  1. Just thought it east tn typical that a colored man is made mention of but the race of any other people in the story was not noted. That and bigotry pisses me off, lol.
  2. What difference did the boyfriend being black have to do with anything?
  3. once he is reelected the real Big O will appear. He is a wolf laying in the bushes until the timing is right.
  4. there is plenty of new good country music out there. You just have to go to the right radio stations to listen. And of course you are not going to find them stations on your local commercial radio. Sirius or XM is the only way to go.
  5. the older you get the less hair you have where you want it and more hair you have where it never used to be.
  6. You know you can't shoot people stealing crap outta your car. IIRC where you live I suspect this will not be the last time someone commits a crime against you. Crime is everywhere but there are some places where this is more crime. Stay frosty.
  7. how many years was she on network TV? I can't answer. I never even once saw her show. Stay or go, won't affect me either way.
  8. Did tell him to shut up? Whatever it was she said the big O's body language said it all.
  9. Iirc Granite safes are out of Texas. They are not safes per se but residential security containers. More than sufficient to keep less than a very determined criminal out. It has a meager fire rating. I think new they are right under 600 bucks at BPS. As an aside I am offering a crumudgeon class on the weekends, enrollment fee is an 18 pack of Keystone Light.
  10. There was one at a Knox gunshow a while back. Had to be the same guy. While I know I will never shoot or own one at least I got to shoulder it. A real piece of firearms history.
  11. That pistol would have to be bought through a FFL. A background check would be needed. You can buy a modern day revolver for less than that Uberti reproduction. I would not recommend this gun as a first gun. I can about guarentee that this pistol will have to be special ordered. As to not recommending it as an introduction in to firearms, it is a very old design. The parts used in the action of the gun while made from modern metals are prone to needing replacement, and inturn prone to needing gunsmithing. They just do not drop into place and work. Also the Uberti most likely needs to be shot with "cowboy" loads which are not as readily available, in other words you can't walk into WalMart and by .38 Special rounds that will work safely over time in that revolver. Modern single action revolvers such as a Ruger BlackHawk or Vaquero are going to last longer and be much more reliable. Just saying. The pistol you linked is beautiful and Uberti makes nice guns but they are not in league with Ruger or Smith&Wesson. As for the whole situation smelling funny I also said I am probably wrong
  12. you can order a BP pistol and have it sent directly to your home. You can also order a conversion cylinder and have it sent directly to your home. I am probably wrong but this whole thing smells funny. You can buy a heck of a modern day revolver for less than what a colt or remington reproduction revolver and conversion cylinder would cost. I am not sure at all why the route stated by you is a good way to begin with firearms.
  13. Yes the gas can be turned off and the rifle shot as a bolt action. The little button looking thing that sits about 5 inches in front of the forestock controls the gas. Flip that button to the 12 oclock position and the gas is off.
  14. Now I see. Very nice. I refinished my Yugo a few years ago. Went from the basic dingy looking way all Yugo's seem to look, to this. I ain't messing with my 91-30. It looks like it was carved by hand with a knife from a 2X4 then run over by a halftrack. heck I don't even want to shoot it anymore. I know for a fact it has cost me over $1000 to shoot. I can't afford any more crowns from rifle concussion. I like shooting this Yugo way better.
  15. you are right Buc, there is no way to win when dealing with the fai...meaner sex. I know that any innocuous comment I make will be twisted, heard in a way I did not intend or even say, and then used against me. I can't even tell her that dinner was delicious. She will then comment something to the extent of " what do you mean by that?" If I say thank you for dinner she will say " I know pork roast is not your favorite but thats what all we had" Mostly at some point during the morning hours she will call me and ask what I feel like having for dinner. Note the " feel like having". I dont' feel much of anything while at work other than sore muscles. And after near 25 years she should know that when cornered and demanding a response for that question my response is always, yes always chicken. Not that I love chicken all that much its fine and all but I figure it is the safest answer. Sometimes she will make chicken other times she makes whatever the heck she wants to make. I never say it but I do think it, that then why did you even ask! and in those 25 years I have never even one time made a disparaging remark about how the food was. But on the bright side I grilled a T bone steak for breakfast today, it was wonderful. On the down side, even though I told her last night I was going to do that, ( another story why there was one steak in the fridge, not important anyway but she made the other one last night while I was at cub scouts.) any minute now she will notice I made the steak and then comment how she was going to fix breakfast this morning. And of course it will be presented in a manner that I have now ruined her morning. I can't wait for OS to come get me so I can get out of here to do some manly stuff today. Is it 11:30 yet? With a little luck neither of us will have a "have you ever been shot" story to add to that thread.
  16. did you ever post a pic of the Mosin?
  17. yeah I don't think anything happened. We had a Cub scout ceremony tonight, and I have no doubt some of those people qualify to be raptured. The event went off without a hitch and no one turned up missing. It is kind of disappointing.
  18. now don't go letting fact get in the way of things. Runways built 2000 years ago. HA, next thing you will try to make me believe is that some dude was killed and then came back, and then floated up to the sky 40 days later.
  19. she is wrong, and I suspect she knows so. No one ever claimed women speak logically, or that what they say is really what they mean.
  20. so nafter reading all of this I wonder what you did for fun Buc?
  21. gonna fix the grandsons mini bike, again. I suspect he will be riding it tomorrow. And even if this rapture thing happens I know I will still be here and as long as the roads don't crumble or Clinch Mountain falls down I will be where I am supposed to be at tomorrow.
  22. couldn't offend me, been there and done that, even got a t shirt. Of course I was a child of the 70's. I remember hippies and the summer of love but was a year or two away from firsthand experience. Anyway the 70's were only a slight step down from the 60's. It was a lot of fun being in that club.
  23. it was the Slim Jim's. I know darn well that anything made of animal parts that tastes that good is not healthy for the heart.
