  1. I would not spread the band at all. You will never get the proper fit and tension on it again. If you depress the spring and wiggle the band you ought to be able to get it off.
  2. if it is bad to resurrect old threads they should be killed off or locked down after a certain period of time. Dunno? Anyway that would solve that issue. SUNTZU. are the bullet flowers the work of TJ's girlfriend?
  3. a six shooter that shoots only five is a five shooter, duh. Single action revolvers are supposed to be six shot, not ten or twelve. If they were supposed to have more Colt would not have designed the 1873 with six.
  4. unloading and then reloading a SAS is very therapuetic. If I am going out in the woods to blow off steam the Ruger always makes the trip with me.
  5. that gets no traction outta me. Six shooters are only supposed to shoot six times. Just cause they drill ten holes in the cylinder does not make it right. It is like the anti Christ of revolvers.
  6. I saw an older model. 45 at the last expo center show and it had rubber grips. I have a Pachmeyer slip on grip on my .40 and it feels good to hold.
  7. True DAT. LOL
  8. Glad he let you back Garufa. I was afraid we would have to kick you out of the secret circle.
  9. Lefty courtesy of mothernature. But I am confident in my switch hitting when it comes to guns
  10. Double tap, dang phone
  11. Apology accepted and no grudge held. Thank you. Let's all move forward.
  12. I would bet it is a .44. It has a ton of surface rust but if it is a real relic it is probably worth some cash. If it was mine I would have to shoot it, LOL
  13. are you a moderator? Either lock the thread or show some class, geez
  14. I am fairly sure you can get conversion cylinders for Colt replicas as well as Remington 1858
  15. the lube is mostly to keep the fouling soft. I find that if I don't use crisco the action binds up way sooner than when I use it. Also stay away from conventional oil. Dino based oil tends to react to the BP and get very stiff. The cheapest low grade olive oil works pretty good. But only stick that stuff on it before shooting, it gets gummy if left on the gun for an extended period. I believe chain fires come from ill fitting caps. I have always pinched the cap a little for a tighter fit before sticking it on the nipple. if not the caps may fall off as you shoot the pistol. if you are going to carry the thing in a holster leave a cylinder empty and put the hammer on that. Some pistols don't have the notch to set the hammer on between the cylinders.
  16. Please note that taking and passing the class does not allow you to carry. You must wait until the permit is in your possession.
  17. since you may never really know you will have to get one of each. USGI M1 carbines are geting hard to come by.
  18. there is not a lot of need to see how some shotty patterns in a home defense situation. Good god if you can't hit what it's pointing at at 10 or even 15 feet you ought to stick to a Louisville Sugger
  19. that'd be telling
  20. strawberry margaritas are nothing more than daquiris with tequila instead of rum
  21. OS is easy to spot
  22. A baggie can be your friend when you wanna double dip a gun show
  23. You are all no better than drug users. Signed, Mike the crackhead
  24. I saw a Mosin at the show today. It was a Finn. I think the guy wanted 295 for it. Unless you are a collector that is crazy money.
