  1. Someone who lives near me has been shooting a lot today. I am guessing they bought a new toy at the gun show. Ten rounds every time they fired. If there had been some longer delay I might have figured it to be a Hi Point but the repetition was always the same so there were no failures. So anyway, what handguns hold ten rounds in the clip? It sounded like a 9mm or a .40 maybe. I don't think it was a .45 or .32 or .22 just based on the sound of it. Who knows maybe it was a Hi Point.
  2. yep heard it before on the intwewebz of all places, undoubtedly a true story.
  3. who the heck says to have the action open? WTF? If the gun is not loaded it is not loaded, the position of the bolt is meaningless. Guns in one place in the vehicle, bewlitts somewhere else. It is pretty darn simple.
  4. you aren't gonna do better than a Ruger MkII or III or a 22-45 for the money. There is really no comparison without dropping big bucks.
  5. guns and ammo seperate. Meaing one or the other in the trunk. Boxes don't matter. Just keep guns and ammo seperate.
  6. The screw i n posts will work for carrying a rifle with a sling. But i don't see them holding up to using the sling for support during shooting.
  7. I will give you credit for one thing. Your posts are massive. No shortage of words, LOL
  8. Is it just a range gun for you. If so there really is no reason to sling it. If you stick a sling on it using swivels (name or whatever they are called) that go on the stock you will end up yanking them out.
  9. I don't expect it to, but ya never know. Any given sunday...
  10. Harry Turtledove wrote a series of books based on the south having won the war. Real good reading for the what if crowd.
  11. You pointed out how poor Dalton's five wins are, as they only beat one winning team and lost to Denver. I did not expect him to win five games the entire season. He has lost to a good 49'r team. And to Denver at Mile High. Nothing at all for him to hang his head over. I don't kid myself that Cincy is a top team.I do not expect them to beat Pittsburgh at all. If they sweep Cleveland and split with Baltimore they might sneak in. Would be nice to beat Nashville this week. Tebow played when denver beat Miami, thats a lot isn't it? Got no idea who else they beat in spite of him playing.
  12. Thirteenth Valley by John del Vecchio. Fictional piece based on his real life experience in the Viet Nam war. It was hard to put down. Men Without Woman by Hemingway. It is a book of short stories written in 1927. I love his writing style. All of the stories are fairly fast reads.
  13. I am about dumbfounded by the sideways logic here.
  14. Shane did not do it to save his family, he did it to save his sorry self.
  15. Newton plays for a team that did not win much last year, 2 wins is a lot for them. Andy Dalton does not have one starting receiver back from last year and that team with all pro skill players only won four games. You keep making excuses for your boy. He has had an entire year of practice, plus what he has gotten this season. There is probably not one team in the NFL that he could play for.
  16. I am not an expert on UT football, but it was not that many years ago they played in the SEC title game. UC played in two BCS bowls and may well make another this year. UT beat them handily. UT went bowling last year. He must have done something right. Dooley has had about a year and a half to recruit. Has lost several starting defenders as well as his starting qb this year. On a very young team those are death blows. Basically Dooley has not gotten a real chance so far. Tebow may end up being the next steve young, but so far he is not even the next vince young. Dalton, a true rookie is 5-2 on the worst franchise in the league. Cameron also a true rookie is looking pretty good though he has plenty of knocks against his style. I ain't buying all the Tebow hype or your explanation of Dooley's or Tebows woes.
  17. Easy, fix. Dump the background check. Give jail time to anyone possessing a gun and committing a crime.
  18. Hammer and screw driver work fine. All you gotta open is a corner. The packs the rounds are in a small and it is easy enough to get them out. Garufa had a good suggestionf for reuse. I would suggest use the empty tin as your first target.
  19. You brought up deo vindice. OS commented on that. I mentioned germans. Natural thread progression i guess. The south and germany had something in common. They both lost. So god being on their side did not seem to help much.
  20. It does not matter how you open the can. It won't be reusable anyway.
  21. Why would a retailer just up and give away product? How does he stay in business doing that. But I will give it a go. Next time i am in any store after making my purchase I will pick up something else and ask if i can have it for free.
  22. I took my class there. It was worth every penny. Can't recommend it highly enough. And it most likely will be your only chance to shoot in the safest and cleanest indoor range in east TN, that place is like a shooting range cathedral.
  23. And Red Dalton continues to fly under the radar.
  24. The German army believed God was on their side too. Didn't work out so well for them either.
  25. I hate them damn things. Reminds me I need to shoot mine one of these days.
