  1. Jack you were right, its not an arisaka, LOL maybe French
  2. there in lies the problem
  3. like I said the long one is some crap piece of crap. Looks like an arisaka
  4. gotta go with Ramjo here, what is illegal about it?
  5. the short one is a Mauser bayonet , long one is an Arisaka I believe.
  6. checked out my .45 Colts, they don't have it. But I have some factory .357's that do.
  7. I don't know, but no matter who I shot I am sure I would be terribly upset over it. But also it appears and according to JayC you get to keep the gun.
  8. thats exactly what I try to prevent. he can shoot anytime he wants to, Never told him no. I am lucky we can go out front in the woods and shoot. If he wants to, we do it. If he wants to see one or hold one I drop what i am doing and cover it. i don't want any mystery about guns. And I don't want him to ever sneak around to handle them
  9. one thing we can all agree on is this is a f'd up mess.
  10. I like that post Wyatt. I wish I had a supply of rails and buckets of tar, bags of feathers. Everyone running aside from Herman is just more of the same old.
  11. looks like a crimp or some mark left from how deep the bewlitt was seated. ??
  12. bad year so far for being in the woods.
  13. best four words you posted in this thread dude
  14. I started my grandson (Cameron) out at five years old. He is nine now. We lived in illinois when my son was growing up and while I had guns I was not into them so much. So the grandkids get the benefit of all the fun now. I am just now letting Cam shoot handguns. If I am shooting and he wants to yank the trigger I let him. When we started I bought him a single shot .22 bolt rifle. Put a bipod on it and made him shoot sitting down. now, if I am going shooting he can come if he wants to. He can shoot any gun I brought if he wants. He prefers mag dumps with the Ruger MkIII though. Gonna break in the midddle grandson next summer when he is five. Can't wait.
  15. and to add, if I inadvertantly found myself on a school property wearing my piece I would drive off of it asap. If I discovered I must be there to accomplish my task I would seperate the gun from ammo and store the gun and ammo as if I had no permit.
  16. beautiful stuff. I would have liked it better if UC had beaten them a couple of weeks ago.
  17. the NC game is now officially a farce. it's perfect. Well it will be is LSU loses in that game. maybe it is a step closer to a playoff.
  18. thats the funniest thing you have ever posted. I am not 100% but I think there is a building with a for lease sign on it in my warehouses complex. If it's there ands not a figmant of my imagination I am so doing that. ( note I will not deface their sign, but I will write Navidad on a piece of paper and tape it to it.)
  19. really Wyatt? You shoot someone, in your home or otherwise and the cops should leave the guns in your hand? Then if the DA prefers charges they can come back with a warrant to get your gun. What is to stop you from throwing the gun in the river? You shoot someone, no matter why and your gun is evidence, they are taking it right now. You just shot someone, and you are worried about your piece? I would be more concerned with the fact that I just killed someone. But thats me, I dunno. as for bass ackwards, yep, probably is. But it is how it is and it's not changing.
  20. if you shoot someone in self defense in your home your first call ought to be to 911, immediately followed by a call to a lawyer. You are going to be in court no matter the circumstances of why you shot. Seriously what happens to your firearm is the least of concerns. I know and have the number of the lawyer I would call, do you?
  21. I really appreciate the offer TS. Cubs can do a lot of things, but not under the BSA umbrella. We can't even take our den and go camping. We can do things that fall under father/son activites though. And skills that Cubs need to learn can be worked on outside of official activities. We do get to whittle at some point this year. Last year one of the Wolf dens cheated and whittled too soon. One kid cut the crap out of himself.
  22. yeah I kind of figures your bags cold rating was not that cold. You need a warmer one. A pad of some sort is great too if you don't have one already, keeps you off the cold ass ground.
  23. it is a nice thought Timestepper, but there are specific limitations on camping within cub scouting. Cubs can only camp with the pack. Not to say that Cubs can't camp, but it cannot be an offical Scouting event unless it is at Pack level. At a typical Pack campout the boys fish, hike, play assorted sports ,put on skits etc... Shooting and Archery can only be done at the district level. Tigers, Wolves and Bear Scouts can't even put a log on a fire. Lots of rules they have.
  24. I would think it reasonable to assume by student they mean student of that school. but like OS says, it is gray.
