  1. I am glad you are satisfied that the .gov is not up to bad intentions. What exactly did they teach you in this TEMA course? Myself I am not so trusting. The only reason I can figure that anyone wants to know what I have prepared for is so they can can count on me to contribute it for their needs. Just like what went on in the Mormon deal. If they aren't making a plan for confiscation for the "common good" they would not be asking about it.
  2. all I am gonna say it is involves a Marlin bolt rifle, a brick of 22's, a 9 year old boy and a memory that will last him forever.
  3. I thought it was a good show. Crowded almost like Obama just won the election. The line was as long at noon when I left as it was at nine when we went in. And David I can't thank you enough. Cameron has hardly stopped talking about the best day he has ever had.(his words)
  4. That would be called Midnight Mass you heathen
  5. I think you ought to rethink your stance. Yeah you had a bad experience with it when you found out, I dunno why. I don't remember how old I was when I found out, certainly not four. Maybe the third grade so 8 years old.And I do not recall it as being very traumatic when I found out. I never thought of my parents as liars. Kids are only little once. Doesn't seem fair to take away the magic of Santa. Ya Grinch
  6. sorry it did not work out to attend today. But between the trip to the Guard base with the scouts and an amazing thing happening while at the gun show it was a great day.
  7. Can't imagine banning santa. Santa is not from the north pole though. I am pretty sure i met him in knox at the gunshow today
  8. My truck does not call for 93 octane but it runs better with it and gets better mpg enough to offset the cost.
  9. I don't use any of that additive stuff in my daily driver. I might add some stabil to gas I store but thats it. As far as I know all gas comes from the same pipeline. Colonial supplies every gas storage place in Knoxville. So I am thinking it does not matter much where you buy gas aside from whatever the individual gasoline franchise may add. Shell BP etc all add some sort of detergent. I have been told it is good to change up where you buy gas on occassion as even the detergents leave crud. A different detergent will clean another's crud. I buy gas from Weigels near where I live. They claim it is 100% gas. I see no claim of any detergent additive. I know for a fact I get three to four MPG better with their gas than using any other place which all have ethanol added. I pay extra to buy 93 octane. Makes my engine sound better so it makes me feel better about buying it ,LOL. i think the additives you buy from the auto parts store or wherever are a waste of cash.
  10. Charlie Weiss pretty much already proved he can't oversee a college football team.
  11. I thought about Longest Day but I don't really consider that a John Wayne movie. Sure he was in it but so were a lot of Hollywood's A list actor's. It is more of a movie John Wayne was in. Great flick though.
  12. With some of the hunting accidents inthe news lately I would think blaze orange would be right.
  13. I don't think the gases vent back at you. There is some sort of seal on the cylinder. There have been revolving rifles for over 150 years, not a new fad.
  14. This may help John Wayne - IMDb
  15. The John Ford trilogy, The Searchers (my personal fave), Angel and the Badman. Hard to stop at just a few.
  16. Buy it cheap and stack it deep. Ammo is not going to significantly go down in price no matter who is elected.
  17. I understand where you are coming from Lak. I almost bought a converted 58 a few years ago. I am glad i just settled for a conversion cylinder now. LOL heck i hardly ever shoot it anyway.
  18. Josey Wales, the preacher, ah what's the difference, LOL ? Either way the .58 Remmy is designed for easy swapping of cylinders. I believe on all the Colts you have to pull the barrel wedge, remove the barrel, pull off the cylinder then reverse the process. but obviously WTF do I know? LOL A Richards & Mason conversion will cost a pretty penny. You started out talking about a 51 Navy which go from less than a 150 and up. A converted pistol is about 5 bills. Taylor's & Company
  19. well good on you and your rifle. Either way six inches at a hundred yards is about minute of Nazi, thats what you are looking for with it.
  20. Gotta go with Open Range. it was my answer before I got past the first post.
  21. Going to the Air Guard base at the airport with the scouts. Dunno what we are doing there but someone said flashbangs and helicopters. That and the boy wants to go. Maybe next time TS
  22. I hope mythbusters insurance has to pay for it all. Scary stuff.
  23. A date that will live in infamy. Do they teach this in school nowdays? I am pretty sure my 3rd grade grandson does not know about it. It was a kick in the nuts that changed the world. And gave that generation the chance to be the greatest. And most likely was preventable. It would be very interesting to know the truth about how it came about.
  24. LOL, you only get one pair of eyes. You living in the Sunshine State ought to take note. I never worried about it much until we lived in Boca. I was outside a lot on the golf course between work and play . Proper UV protection for the eyeballs is important. I can get by with cheap beer, I have an iron gut, and my flashlights are Maglights so it is not like total junk, just not expensive stuff.
  25. You guys wearing cheap sunglass need to be aware that the UV coating will rub off. We all polish are glasses with our shirt tail or whatever. You will not notice if the UV coating comes off, but your eyes will. The coating on a good pair of glasses will not come off on your shirt tail. I have had Oakley glasses before, still have one pair as a backup in the truck. I was very disappointed in their durability.
