No its not a religious institution. Might have been at one time but today certainly not. If society has no problem with two straight people marrying via a JP, which is not religious at all, why should there be such a problem with two gay people doing it? I don't see where anyone can force a church to marry people, straight or otherwise. bottom line is always money.

If two people are married by a JP it is in fact called marriage. Certainly being married by a JP is not a religious ceremony. I am not sure how being married is religious, and god is not always involved. People can write their own vows, there needs be no mention of god for it to be legal. When i get a second i will dig out my marriage license, pretty sure there is no mention of god on it. And i don't see why gays getting married is such a big deal. Funny topic it is.

Marrying siblings is taboo i suppose. Isn't the real purpose of gay marriage to insure chain of property rights, other things like serious illness and hospital issues etc... Wouldn't being a sibling already be taken care of legally such as heirs to estates and what not? Not sure if i have the proper vocabulary for what i am trying to say. The gov't should not be involved in marriage period. Consenting adults should be able to marry to insure their loved ones all have the same rights.

I have tried to sell a rifle. Axing price is 650, its a fair price. I inevitably get someone saying i will give you 600, i countered with how about 700. Kinda figured it was fair. Why does a prospective buyer feel it is okay to lowball you? I love the look on their faces when i counter with a higher price. People are morons and i hate dealing with them.

I can say one thing about Muslims, their faith has been around a heck of a lot longer than christianity. Personally I could care less about a persons religious beliefs. I want to know do they believe in our constitution and will they follow it. Mormon's amd Muslims do have one thing in common. The person they follow was actually real. Whether or not they know the truth I can't say.
