  1. i want some time back
  2. make a statement, buy a S&W
  3.   Define a smoking deal?     When I finally decided to pull the plug on my old 99 it was about how much to bring it back to spec vs buying new/newer.  I miss that truck.  Kane, only vehicle I ever had with a name.  LOL  I should'a figured a way to make it like new under the hood and down the drive train.
  4. LJ knows what he is talking about.  No one wants to dick around with two trees.   Everyone thinks at least it is worth something as firewood at least.  It's not.     I have had a lot of tree work done the last couple of years and the only price break I ever got was to let them leave the wood here.   I am lucky I have a place they can pile it,  or several places as the case is.  If anyone wants some wood to split they can contact me and have all they want.
  5.     I believe we have some left.
  6. trucks cost more, it is a fact.  But they also have way more sheet metal as well as everything on it is bigger than a car. Tires, wheels etc...   I believe you can buy a new truck (pick your brand) well equipped for 32 to 35K. While the payment will be high if you plan on keeping it for ten or fifteen years it is not bad money spent.  I never worried about buying new and being upside down from depreciation when I drive off the lot.  That depreciation will level out over time.   Now if you roll them over every two or three years buying new is not good.   I bought my current 14 F150 early this year, saved right about 12K on the sticker just by it being the last years model.  most likely it will be the last truck I ever own. I hope to ride it to the grave. And if I outlast it I will be old to the point that I won't need a truck, just someone to shove oatmeal down my throat in a home somewhere.
  7. it will always be incremental. No one accomplishes these things in one fell swoop.   Goes back to the old "give them an inch" thing.
  8.   This!   It takes less than a minute to check out a customer.  This is basic customer service.  Even a few minutes has never put anyone off in my experience.  I easily could have handled both the actual sale and the potential sale.     The potential customer who is getting pitched to will not mind waiting for a minute or so.  They never do.  Gives them time to think anyway.     the clerk was clearly wrong in this situation.
  9.     I was telling a couple of people about the Bobcat that walked down my driveway and past my house a couple of months ago.  First thing they wanted to know was if I killed it or was going to hunt it.   I was like like WTF would I want to do that for?  The cat wasn't hurting anything.  Have not seen it since.
  10.     I am like this.  Even if f I take the AK to the range I reload the magazine I am using.  There is enough "cold" range time to do it, more than enough.   I prefer shooting revolvers both double and single action when shooting handguns.  I find the unloading and reloading very therapeutic. Just banging away doesn't do it for me.
  11. I only read a few responses so my thoughts won't be skewed.  Though some will see my posts as skewed anyway,  cause I am senile, grouchy and nuts.  Sort of like the other Mike.   I like the idea of a lot of mags for my assault rifle.  I have ten.  They are probably old as heck and came from a commie country.  I won't need more than one mag as if I ever had to deploy it in the zombie apocalypse.  I'll either be killed straight off or I can get a better rifle off the field if I am lucky enough to survive.   So ten for that.   I like having two for my range rifles.  Yanno, .22'a and such.  If I need a rifle for use in the post apocalypse world I have a single shot .22 that is accurate beyond belief. So wasting cash on mags for range rifles is a total waste.   I prefer to have two mags for all semi auto handguns.  My daily driver has two, I'd like two more.  The range pistols don't need more than that.   If you own a wheel gun as a "last gun to let go", who cares about mags?    But this is me, it is not like I am wearing these out at the range.
  12. we got a case (four bottles) of Woodford white corn bourbon in the other day. ( I might have the name wrong but it is made with white corn)     It looks interesting, I like the color a lot.  I would venture a guess that it is fairly sweet as far as bourbon goes. Comes in a more normal shaped bottle than regular Woodford.  IIRC it is slightly less than $100.   If anyone is interested I can sell this one.   I am off until Monday afternoon so if you want it jump on it.  Send me a PM, if it is there on Monday when I go in I will set it back for you, either way I will message you back.     I am about 90% sure there will still be one on Monday.  There were three today.  I can't figure what angle some of the trophy buyers are looking for.  Why would you walk passed this bottle on the shelf if the price point was where you are at?   We still have some Weller Reserve left, people turn their nose up at it.   Idiots!
  13.     $280, 325 maybe, or there abouts.    I have seen a few but have not sold one. IIRC we have two in the building, and no I can't sell it,  LOL   I am really guessing on the price.  We had a friend of the boss who had a twenty year old and wanted to trade up for a 23.  Of course we did it. I don't know where he got the 20 year old at.  But the 23 was over 400 beans.   The 20 year old my be 285.00 or so????  I think the guy had to pay about $150 to trade up.   Anyone buying this whisky from CL is an absolute idiot with more money than sense.  If I did it, and I easily could I'd be fired in a heartbeat.  Anyone gouging on it is unethical.  Especially stores like some who triple or quadruple their markup.  That is not how to run a business.
  14. so what would the penalty be for selling without complying with King Zero's EO?
  15. I wish someone would ask him why it seems mass shootings almost always happen at gun free zones.   Ask him that at a press conference.  Has anyone done that?
  16. why doesn't he issue an executive order banning the commission of crimes?   Why does he not really care about the gun violence in Chicago?   What a tool.
  17. pretty sure he only wants to restrict gun sales to citizens who are law abiding.
  18. I always thought a truck gun was a firearm you did not worry about.  If it got a little beat up from bouncing around who cared?   I am not quite ready to always keep a rifle with me just yet.  Road trips I do but the daily grind not so much.
  19. i entered but I really hate them rifles.  Fun to own, fun to play with,  hate shooting them.  But winning one would be cool. Never won anything in my life aside from sophomore year of high school when I won "Guess the Weight"  of two fat kids..  I think I won 35 bucks.   My hopes this time are not high.
  20.   I am not a huge fan of Prichard's.  I find it very much like Jamaican rum but it had a harshness going down.  It is good but I prefer the Appleton.
  21. I have a pair of those.  They work great at the range but I did not care for using them as noise suppressing while blowing leaves or mowing.  For that I use plain old cheap Harbor Freight muffs with ear buds.
  22.     glad to read the retraction
  23. what store did you buy it at?  When did you get it?
  24. that is the best thing I have seen on the internet in days.   to add,  I am sure it was staged.  The preggo lady did not inhale.  Only lit up when it was her scene.  The tall dummy was beyond acting stupid.  Agree about the short drunk guy.   And if it was real, them three dumbasses were not going to do a thing anyway.  Perfect trio to talk to.   Really Dave?  You wish he'd have been shot?  C'mon.  Even if it was real that put someone in fear for their life?
