Jason Whitlock...NRA likened to KKK
Mike.357 replied to 10-Ring's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Another writer for FOX Sports wrote a rebuttal of sorts against Whitlock's hackery http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/kansas-city-chiefs-jovan-belcher-suicide-murder-no-reason-to-take-away-rights-120512 -
Trace Adkins explains Confederate flag earpiece
Mike.357 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Another thing that is messed up. The Swastika was around for WAY before the Nazi's. It is actually a has good meaning behind it. "The Original Meaning The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck." http://history1900s....tikahistory.htm So, In my opinion, the whole swastika argument is bullsh##.
The confederate flag, actually battle flag has been bastardized. White racists have given it the current meaning. Just as Nazi Germany has given the swastika the current connotation. The actual flag of the confederacy only has the battle flag in the upper left hand corner with a red bar that runs on the right side of the flag.. It is called the Confederate Third National Flag. I rarely if ever see that flag flown by anyone. And as far as I know that is still the official flag of the confederacy. -
Ramsey speaking on Parking Lot Bill again
Mike.357 replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I figured as much 6.8. I doubt a parking lot bill will ever come to a vote anyway, and if by some chance it does it will be so watered down it will be virtually worthless. -
if you refuse to do business with companies that don't allow their employees to carry guns I am not sure where you can do business at.

Ramsey speaking on Parking Lot Bill again
The bill shouldn't exclude any college parking lot, though.
it should not exclude any parking lot period. -
Had to employ some good 'ole TN ingenuity this afternoon

got a hole in a four wheeler motor some years back. Got hit by a rock and it put a hole in it. Patched it over with JB weld. Let it set up and then ran it some more. I am not sure but I think it is still in service. That stuff is great. -
Arming children with the facts about guns
Mike.357 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Theories they may be but I bet there is not a school in this country that does not, at some point, teach that guns are evil, dangerous, bad things and an adult must be called immediately. Eventually they'll just substitute adult with 911.
" I am sure at some point teachers will tell kids "guns are bad, m'kay" I am not sure if all Knox County schools do it, but both of the grandsons have been exposed to guns through public school with the Eddie Eagle program. I am a firm believer that by letting the boys handle guns whenever the mood strikes them it removes the mystery of it all. The youngest one has no interest really, and the older one knows he can shoot when he wants to within reason. But both of them know they can see them or handle them whenever they want to, even it it means pausing the football game or whatever. I handle them when I want to, no reason they can't do the same. -
Thanks Brad, this season has been a long time coming. I know a lot of people who root for ND and it is great to share the season's success with them. I have been in a group of 20 or so guys for about 15 years or so. We are basically an email based message board. We all met on an old AOL ND fan board back then. At some point it became about sending emails so as to not have to deal with trolls. A few of the guys went to ND, a couple played ball there, one guy went on to the NFL. One guy is a sportswriter. I think our ages are from 20 somethings to a couple of guys in their 70's. We lost a gentleman last spring named Layden. I wish he was still alive to enjoy this year. I also wish my Dad's mental state was better as well. I am not sure he really knows what ND has accomplished so far this year. For me this season is a tribute to Layden and my Dad even if they aren't here or knowing whats going on. ND made a great hire in Bryan Kelly. Like UT is finding out, hiring the right coach is not an easy task. Kelly is laying a foundation like Saban has done that helps ensure success for years to come. ND went from Lou Holtz to a lot of guys qualified to be a head coach but none of them could get it done. Kelly has the ability and drive to field teams that can contend. I fully expect to be in the hunt again next year.and the foreseeable future. Though there is no telling how the ball will bounce and how the calls will go. The foundation for success has been laid. I hope it can come to fruition this year. Regardless of who wins or loses I hope it is all left on the field in the hands of coaches and players. No crap or blown calls. Just a hard fought game with one team coming out ahead through their efforts. It ought to be a helluva game.

All I can really count on in the BCS title game is that ND will suit up and take the field. I just hope I don't have to work that night so I can watch the game. This season has been nothing but a win for ND ,the outcome of the next game won't change that fact,

Brent is part of ABC's #1 broadcast team. Herbstreit deserves a better partner. I agree he is terrible, have thought so for as long as I can remember.
That particular article is embellished a bit, but the basic content I saw on Drudge, the other day. It also had a picture of some "graduates" holding AR-15/ M4's with red tips for flash hiders. It was a similar article, but the content wasn't the funny part, just the picture, and it could lead one to think about the point where those red tips might not be on the weapons.
a little research reveals that the picture of the young men/boys with rifles are Boy Scouts, not Obama's secret army. Yep Boy Scouts . holding airsoft guns. Sends chills up my spine.

just cancel the BCS title game and give Alabama the trophy.

Trace Adkins explains Confederate flag earpiece
Mike.357 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
if you had friends or family who fought under the swastika would it still be okay to fly that? Or stick it in your ear as the case may be? The civil war was over 150 years ago, the south lost. Time to move on. It is kind of fun to wonder where we would all be had the south won. Harry Turtledove addressed it, great reading. As to his version, are things better or worse, I dunno. I occasionally fly a confederate flag, but if I was an entertainer making money from my appearances I would rethink my stance on it. I seriously wonder what he is trying to say by this thing. Truly the stars and bars offend people. I understand the history with it, and the legacy it has left. It bothers me not in the least. If I was a black man it would probably piss me off. if I had a neighbor who was angered by my flying of that flag I would ease up on it. I am not sure I understand all the hubub about his. Why stir the pot, and for what reason? -
Drawn into exactly what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
drawn into that it is a threat. I dunno, I guess I don't get it. The website the OP linked too sort of made me wonder WTF, how do reasonable people buy into this. I can't go off the deep end with you guys. Gotta stop reading these types of threads. I can't go through life thinking everyone is out to get me, even if I am paranoid. and to add, I think some here see tyranny in the Salvation Army. I think this quote sums it up nicely Nucky: Obviously I offended you in some way but since you're a man who can find an insult in a bouquet of roses, I'm not sure quite how.

Yes, I meant when you shoot it to let us know. The thing looks great.

Beautiful Dan. How does the the shorter barrel and stock replacement effect the recoil. While I generally am not a fan of defacing milsurps it bother me not when it is a Mosin Nagant.

Mother wants debt inherited from dead son's loans forgiven.
Mike.357 replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
My Dad cosigned a loan for me when I was young. I did not screw him over. I cosigned a loan for my now extremely responsible son when he was young, and well that did not work out so well for me but I thought it a way to repay the trust I had been given, All water under the bridge now, we all make mistakes in raising our kids. Most of us are not perfect. But he learned and has paid me back tenfold in ways that aren't monetary. In retrospect it was a good investment. Asking never hurts, but when you sign papers backing up a loan you better be prepared to follow up on it. This woman is way out of line, Se has gone way beyond asking for help. -
I have heard Fox news reference factcheck.org. Heard it after every debate when they cited factcheck over things Romney claimed. Just because they aren't verifying what you want to believe does not make it less truthful. I have a hard time believing that you 6.8 are drawn into it based on the link in the original post. I gotta trust my Occams razor instinct here. I also believe 2A is about all the Homeland Security we need here.

Youth army? Loosen the tinfoil. I guess I am totally naive. I am not worrying about Obama's youth army. The link to the website the OP lists raised lots of red flags to me. I did a simple google search of FEMA corp. Found this right near the top. Irregardless of how a game plays out in Miami, Notre Dame has already been the big winner this season. No one saw them going unbeaten this year. The boost to recruiting will be immeasurable. 12-0 or 12-1 really doesn't matter. It would be awesome to go 13-0, but either way the next chapter in the Irish legacy is already written. All that remains to be added is a post script. Kelly has shown repeatedly in his coaching career how to build a contender. And don't forget history. The last four coaches who have won national championships at ND did so in their third year. Kelly is in his third year. And also let's don't forget Lee Corso picked ND to win it all. That guy is never wrong.

The national title should just be awarded after Saturday's game. Alabama or Georgia could beat just about every NFL team. I am curious though,, who did Alabama lose to and where was it played, and who did Georgia lose to? Oh wait,Alabama lost to a two loss team on their home field and Georgia somehow lost to powerhouse South Carolina. And lets remember that South Carolina nearly lost to the powerhouse blockbuster team that wears orange. And of course they barely beat UT themselves. But lets overlook the incredible schedule they play anyway. We all know a loss to an SEC team by another SEC team is at most like half a loss only, well really it is more like half a win. And a win by a non SEC team against another non SEC team is at best only like half a win. And lets keep strength of schedule out of it, okay lets don't SOS, ND #8 Alabama # 15, Georgia # 27 I love the scenario, If by some miracle lowly ND beats some SEC team in the title game I can't wait to read all the excuses being offered up for how ND pulled it off. Certainly none of those explanations will include that ND is the better team. The Irish have everything to win and not a darn thing to lose. You got the Irish right where they want you.

I did not buy a ticket for myself, but seeing as I was going to get a soda today I agreed to pick one up for a co-worker. He paid the two bucks I bought the ticket. I did make him agree, in front of witnesses that if he wins he has to pay of my mortgage for my effort, LOL. I got a payment due in a couple of days, got plans to pay it tomorrow..... with money from my checking account.

When we moved from Cincinnati to north of Chicago people there thought we were backwoods hillbillies. When we moved to Boca from Illinois no one noticed. And then coming here I am a yankee. Don't much care. I am not a local and don't care to be one. That is not what I am. I am good with it and the people I know from here are too. I think this quote from the movie Days of Thunder covers your situation [background=rgb(246, 246, 244)]Tim Daland: If you're from California, you're not a Yankee.
