I'm sure that there is a good parcel of truth in the above post-- $$$ Talks and keeps the lights on...

So-- read through this thread and decided that a Dash cam might make a good Christmas present for my wife. Decided to go with the above one that eRay posted. Hopefully the install isn't too difficult and that it works as described. After 36 years of marriage it isn't easy to find gifts that matter. If nothing else it will be there if needed--

That was just a bit creepy for a few seconds there--

Got it-- thanks for taking the time to explain. I can see the draw of them-- I've seen a few in pictures but less so out in the wild. I too prefer a smaller pac and that's the primary reason I went with Eberlestock's "Bandit" as my choice for a lightweight and versatile option for EDC. At 13.65L it's right in the sweet spot for me. The MOLLE webbing provides ready options for creating more space in a pinch if needed-- for a short term solution. The availability of color schemes allows for that "Grey Man" mystique if that's a concern. Not so much here in Tennessee-- but where I moved from in Maryland that tended to be a concern for a fair number of the guys. Thanks again-- I hope Defender's pack winds up working for him. It seems like finding the right holster(s) and pacs is a adventure/journey all its own.

I have no experience using sling bags-- can you enlighten me on the advantages you see in them...any drawbacks?

Have you ever looked EBERLESTOCK pacs/bags? Quality and versatility is all there-- I have a couple. The one I have set up for EDC is the BANDIT. But they have several options-- you might be interested to take a look if you have never seen them before. https://eberlestock.com/collections/edc-packs

"Dark Winds" on Netflix-- 3 Episodes in...so far so good. -
I'll throw in a good word for "nexbelts". A different but similar concept/version of the Kore belt. Their EDC line has several color/material options that work great for dress/casual/daily wear. I use Hank's belts for dress but the nexbelt EDC has basically replaced my 5-11tactical nylon belts for EDC. It supports my carry setup without issues of fold-over or side-drop (OWB pancake) with the weight of P365/G43X or 1911 Commander size... w/Mag holsters on the weak side. The easy adjustability to fit a fluctuating tummy/waist size while keeping all the gear secure and comfy is the true benefit of this belt. Good value and performance at a reasonable price.

Sorry to hear that-- I have a 2019 4Runner and as far as paint chips and maintaining the finish go-- it's doing really well. Better luck for you in the future sir!

Placing all the information in the bright clear light of sunshine would, more likely than not, have a remarkable disinfecting quality all of its own... -

Took my wife's tax stamp and her approved lower to Rusty Oak Armory and met Jeff this morning-- got the engraving done. First rate job done lickity-split. Took less than 15 min. and charged us $25.00. He also gave us a mini tour of his shop as he was working off an order to mill 1K lower receivers for a well known company down in Texas. Jeff has a nice little operation going on-- if you're in the area I encourage you to stop in and check it out.

How do I soften a hard leather holster ?
River02 replied to tercel89's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
You're not wrong-- but I've gotten used to it over the years I guess... -
Yeah--- good to know and thanks for doing the leg work on this and posting the results. As mentioned above-- I don't see this "policy" standing long under Bruen. Can't see the current court handing down a ruling broad enough that provides "sensitive places" cover to a Ranger station or VC.

All of the above and once you get it where you want it start spraying it down with Balistol on a periodic basis to easily clean and maintain the leather. Yes- I was surprised too--- -
A couple of years ago I suffered a pretty severe retinal detachment in my non-dominant eye. A series of laser sessions to shore up the retina in my dominant eye was performed to pre-empt an impending detachment there as well. After scleral buckle surgery and close to a year of healing, the vision in the non-dominant eye is much improved. During that healing period I started shooting w/ a RDS because while using irons the front sight was always to fuzzy too focus on. I've got to say-- it turned this sceptic into a believer. Today I shoot and train with both irons and RDS--- I'm confident in my skills with both to comfortably carry a firearm configured under either condition.

Eye Opening Article about the NRA... Actually Not Really
River02 replied to Moped's topic in General Chat
It's a shame really. I started shooting when our local YMCA started an Air Rifle club sponsored by the NRA back in the early 70s. Of course different times for sure but... teaching and passing on the skills and disciplines required for safe shooting were the forefront of the organization.
