  1. I have to say, you guys did a wonderful job turning a surplus beater pistol into a thing of beauty. I love the model 82 and for the price, I don't think you can find a better pistol. 9X18 might not be everyones caliber of choice, but with what has been shown here, they are very worthy of a makeover. Great job and seeing your results reinforces my idea to do the same with one.
  2. Oh my.....I've been wanting an AK-74 for a long time. You posting these pictures is not helping my mental stability to leave my bank account alone.
  3. I drove by Specialty Arms the other day and it looked like they were doing roof work. Today when I went by, it seems that they are making progress on the sides of the building. Hopefully, they can recover soon and open up shop again soon. I will support them even if it cost a little more for my purchase.
  4. I just bought a Gen 4 model 26 March 1st. I'm loving it. 350 rds so far and not 1 malfuction.
  5. Chupracaba
  6. I've had my Tech 1000 box for over 10 years now. (It replaced a smaller Snap-On box). It sits in the garage now that I work the flight line instead of in a hangar, but they are very well built boxes. I can't speak of Mac Tools customer service as I've never had to get anything replaced from them. Just like with firearms, you get what you pay for and all my Mac stuff has held up very well.
  7. I love my AR-15, but for simplicity and ruggedness, I will take an AK every time. Accuracy may not be up to that given by an AR, but it goes boom every time and given the local terrain I'm in, I can't picture myself engaging anything past 200-300 meters. Sidearm will be a CZ-82. 9mm makarov. Not a 45 ACP, but it does hold 12 in the mag and 1 in the pipe. Ambi safety and mag release and very controllable for me. The AK and the CZ-82 stay close and the chest rig is stocked with full mags to feed both. Extra mags/ammo stored here and there of course.
  8. I made a bad comparison here. I just couldn't bring myself to cut on one regardless of how many there are. I see that date stamped on top and think, "This is history". Nothing against anyone that does modify them, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
  9. Same thing was said about the M1911A1
  10. I mailed my form 4 Jan 11th, . ATF still hasn't cashed the check. I'm hanging my receipt on the fridge door so I don't forget that I purchased a suppressor. It will be like a birthday present when the paperwork gets back.
  11. I really feel bad for this man. I don't feel he is/was a threat to himself or anyone else. Doing what he loved to do and a so called doctor decides he is suicidal? I feel the government needs to concentrate on real issues and and leave people alone.
  12. I carried a KT P3AT for about two and a half years. I finally bought the P238 in November of last year. Out of 1007 rds I have had 5 FTE malfunctions out of it and I track every round I fire. All of my malfunctions have been with Fiocchi ammo. (I sense a pattern). This morning, I fired 213 rds of 3 different types of ammunition. No problems at all. My thoughts are, you get good and bad with anything, there is that break in period. 100 rds this morning was Fiocchi ammo. Again zero problems. I'm ordering new recoil and firing pin springs now. Bottom line is, I would never have set down and fired 213 rds in one sitting with the Kel-Tec. (Nothing against them as they have their place and purpose). As echoed by others, you get what you pay for. The P238 is a pleasure to shoot and accurate. I fully intend on getting my spare springs and shooting the crap out of this thing. If you do decide to get one, I highly doubt you will regret the investment.
  13. Steel military surplus. They are not expensive, you can't break them and they work.
  14. "We were watching from nearby vans as our buyers paid cash for a tactical assault rifle modified to use bullets for an AK-47." I wonder what "modifications" were made to use AK-47 bullets? After all, we all know that only terrorist and criminals would need an AK-47. As an old platoon sgt told me years ago, "The world is full of idiots and probably always will be.".

    Your First Car!

63 Volkswagen Beetle. That along with a JC Whitney catalog, got me around for several years.
  16. I'm really going to have to stop clicking on links you folks post. I feel my bank account getting smaller with that new Sig. The rosewood model looks good.
  17. Johnny Walker here. Red label. I'm cheap.
  18. I find it very hard at the Smyrna Walmart to even get someone in sporting goods to open the ammo cabinet.
  19. Sweet! I still have mine, it reminds me of the old cap pistols I played with as a kid. It belonged to my grandfather and I fired it a few years ago, (first time it had been shot in probably 30 yrs). 22 short or not, It made me nervous. I will never part with it for the sentimental value it holds to me, but don't expect me to pull it out at the range either.
  20. You forgot the laser!!! SCP-834 - LaserLyte North American Arms 22LR/22M Laser For the Smallest Pistol Laser Combo I've got one with both WMR cylinder and LR cylinder, I usually pop off some LR rounds every time I go to the range. They are fun to shoot, but I'm not accurate with it at all. Guess I need to shoot it more. Now to find me one of those custom bipods and perhaps that laser sight.
  21. I will send my prayers for your brother and family. Stay strong.
  22. ITP SC2. I have an older version with the R3 emitter. This one is rated 50 lumens more than what I have. iTP SC2 Eluma LED Flashlight with Cree R5 LED - 270 lumens on 2xCR123A Batteries I use mine everyday, dropped it a few times and still running. Its' been a well invested $40 bucks to me.
  23. Self preservation comes in many forms. I personally prefer the M1911 to the M9, but guess what. My opinion doesn't mean anything to anyone except to me. The military trained me on the M1911 and being human I am objective to change. It doesn't make me right. If that guy prefers a straw and a brick of copier paper, let him roll with it. I personally love the CZ-82. That just works for me. It doesn't make it right for anyone else. Don't get caught up in arguments with people like this. If the 92fs fits YOUR requirements, case closed.
  24. Thank you for bringing this to discussion. Everyones' response has made me evaluate my own preparedness for the unknown and I sadly admit that I'm way behind on where I want to be on being prepared for the worst case scenario. This will be corrected this week.
