  1. This is so, so different than the "show off a new gun at SHOT, spend a year sending it around to gunrags, then trickle a handful of them into the marketplace" model that seemed to be the choice of the gun industry back a few years ago when I was selling guns.  I like this new approach.
  2.   This may push the SR series below $300...   What I'd like to see is an "All-American Patriot Package".   1 American pistol 1 American bolt action/scope package. 1 American rimfire All in a special edition fitted "American Patriot" case, and with matching USAXXXX serial numbers. Should be able to get package MSRP to about $1500, with street price more like $1200 or even lower.
  3. Awesome.   I hope the list gets posted everywhere.
  4. I'm really hoping for a CZ P-02 (P-01 with safety instead of decocker), and a 3" Ruger LCRx in .22LR.
  5. Ruger MSRPs are always very high.... In this case within 10 bucks or so of the SR series... Which can be found under $400 pretty easily.
  6. I wonder if Ruger is about to throw its hat into the MHS competition for big Army?
  7. Okay... how does he know the slide didn't go forward and the gun didn't go into battery?   Did he notice that the slide was still OOB and then fire anyway?
  8. Where I'd really like to see the pistol red-dot market go is full integration.   Think about this: A factory slide built around the battery compartment and emitter/adjustment mechanism.  The only thing protruding up would be the sight window itself.  This could put the dot right about the same height as a traditional front sight, speeding up acquisition and making "transition" between irons and optic much easier.
  9. Never been a big Glock fan, but the G19 makes a ton of sense for this application.  These guys spend most of their "fun time" with a rifle, and already ridiculously overburdened with gear (comms, demo, medical stuff... you name it.  A smallish, light pistol that handles abuse well is a good fit.
  10. I try to spend as much of my life as possible less than 50 feet from a loaded rifle.
  11. Browning and Saive had to do some pretty creative engineering on the fire control group of the Hi-Power, ironically to work around Browning's other patents that had been sold to Colt.   The result is kind of a Rube-Goldberg affair.  It can be made adequate, but even the really high-dollar custom HPs I've handled haven't had triggers any better than "pretty good".  The funky mechanics of the system just won't allow for it to be any better.
  12.   Always get a factory crimp die.  :2cents:
  13. If you're gonna buy, do it now...  think FN is running a promo for a free Geissele trigger though the end of the year.
  14. Another good thing about a rifle in the vehicle is that your vehicle tends to be pretty much wherever you are.  If I'm at a friend/relative's place, or at the park, or out wherever, I know there's a gun nearby that's a heck of a lot better fighting tool than my pistol.
  15. Well, if your user name fits, the best Glock mod is to put it back in the safe and carry the CZ....
  16. Cool. But I want the little LCRx 3" in .22LR even more.
  17. GLOCK has one gun design.  It works well.   The farther they stretch/shrink/fold/spindle/mutilate that one design, the less well it seems to work.
  18. Sturmgewehr is a pretty good reference for going prices.   http://sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/nfa4sale.cgi
  19. I don't know if I'd carry it, but if that Smith Model 15 is in decent shape I'd jump all over it at $350. I gotta ask.... What's with the strange list?
  20. AKs are range toys.... what difference does it make?  :2cents:
  21.   "Cheap" ammo these days often translates as "former Combloc"... which more often then not means hard primers.  That may be where the "cheap ammo needs heavier hammer springs" doctrine come from.
  22. https://www.gunsprings.com/index.php?page=items&cID=1&mID=70&dID=305   Wolff doesn't even list an extra-power hammer spring.
  23. I understand the desire to fight back when you're wronged, but honestly, good riddance to the fairgrounds.   Tradition aside, it's turned into a lousy venue.  Goodman and RK (and whoever else) need to go find a better one and take the revenue with them.
  24. With the AR market being what it is now, why wouldn't you have a truck/trunk rifle?    Sometimes even if you make it to the vehicle running isn't a good option.  Or sometimes where you run to ends up being worse than where you ran from.  :ugh:
