  1. Order will probably go in on Monday... will probably take about 5-10 days for Form 3s to clear, then we'll be good to go. So everybody take this weekend to think about it and let Joe or myself know Sunday night. DanO
  2. We're actually about to order some stripped lowers from CMMG that are going to be manufactured as SBRs. These would transfer on a Form 4, with NO ADDITTIONAL ENGRAVING REQUIRED! We're bringing these in for $249, but for TGO members $225 sounds alot better. No muss, no fuss, no finding an engraver and worrying about shipping it... only one set of manufacuring data, looks like any other AR lower. Just let us know.. these should start landing in about 2 weeks or so. DanO
  3. Wouldn't wanna get shot by a Type 94 Nambu either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to run out and by one... DanO ...Who did carry a Yugo-built TT-33 Tokarev clone for awhile.... but at the time my options were pretty limited...
  4. I couldn't agree with you more Tungsten... Glock is the AK of handguns... lousy sights, horrible trigger, terrible ergonomics... and neither is worth having unless full-auto!!! DanO
  5. Aw, man... you guys had me all excited. I was thinking maybe a sequel to the Clint Eastwood movie with the bad-ass Russian fighter plane was coming out... DanO
  6. Rossi makes an excellent little 3-barrel package in a youth model... it comes with .22LR, 20ga., and .243 barrels. I sold quite a few of them around Christmas last year. The whole thing runs around $320 or so... really all the gun a kid would need until he's old enough to pick out his own (or her own). DanO
  7. Don't worrk Kwik... something tell me from your posts that you'll have plenty of more chances.... DanO By the way, I definitely think you should post your residence as a "No Carry Zone"... and make sure any LEOs serving papers are properly disarmed. As a matter of fact, you shoud probably answer the door for them with your sidearm in hand (can't be too careful), and tell them in no uncertain terms to relinquish their guns. Make sure to yell really loud so that they hear you...
  8. Cool... it seems like you're referring to a "flash sight picture", in which the front sight, rear of the slide, some part of the gun, is superimposed over the target and used as an aiming aid (for which illuminated sights still help significantly in low light). I thought you were talking about pure point-shooting, as in "from-the-hip" Dianne Feinstein style ... which is of very dubious value outside of bad-breath distance... unless you're Bill Jordan or Ed McGivern or some other gifted superhuman instinctual shooter. Interesting though are the recollections of Jim Cirillo, who went 9-0 against armed felons, and clearly remembers using clear sight pictures before firing, even going so far as to notice the serrations on his front sight before dropping the hammer on one particular scumbag. However Cirillo was a world-class bullseye shooter with amazing physical gifts just like point-shooters like Jordan and McGivern. As with most polarized arguments, the extreme cases on either end shouldn't be given too much weight, as the truth lies somewhere in between. Getting too philosophical for myself, so I'll just leave it at that. DanO
  9. DB99... if you aren't aiming while shooting at 20ft I hope you have pre-paid burial service for your family and/or pre-paid legal service for yourself... DanO
  10. As soon as he picks up the first monitor and turns toward that woman... two in his 10-ring... what's one of those weigh? 10-15 pounds? That's lethal force every time folks. He easily could have killed or injured that woman, and indeed looked like he intended to do so... DanO
  11. Careful with those two Glen... you might not want to leave them alone together... you could end up with one of these... DanO
  12. Meh... they're all just decendants of the H&K VP70... DanO
  13. Jones, you're absolutely correct. Mike, you need to fill out a BATF Form 5 http://www.atf.treas.gov/forms/pdfs/f53205.pdf You are entitled to receive this gun tax-free since you are a lawful heir. Hopefully, the registration paperwork has all the information about the gun (manufacturer, barrel and overall length, etc.) to use on the form 5. It's a fairly straightforward process... you say you're familiar with NFA purchases... basically a form 5 is a form 4 with a couple of extra boxes to check. The deal is the same as far as prints, photos, and CLEO signoff, just no check for 5 bucks. If you have any questions, just give me a shout, I'll help anyway I can. DanO
  14. Broke out the camera again... here's my Remington 600 Scout Rifle... the same length and weight as a 24" 700PS, but a bit quieter...
  15. Glock may want to file suit on this one... that's obviously a direct copy of the Glock trigger... DanO
  16. Not only is it an auto, but it's most of a 1911.... whooda thunk it? DanO
  17. When you could buy one for about half of an AR, the Minis were a decent deal. But they seem to be getting more and more expensive, while the quality seems to be slipping. If you look at total cost of magazines, the a quality entry-level AR seems to me like a much better deal. Way more accurate too. Just my 2 cents. DanO
  18. I've sold a boatload of the M&Ps in the last 6 months or so, and the feedback I've been getting is outstanding, I'd say easily 95-99% positive. That being said, lemons can strike anywhere, anytime, no matter whose name is on the slide. If you've got a bad gun, S&W will make it right. If you have any trouble, bring me the gun and I'll get Smith to make it right. DanO
  19. Actually I have a slightly modified G19.... pretty neat little gun. Amazing how a 1400rpm cyclic rate can change your opinion of something. DanO
  20. My opinion of the downsides: The WORST sights put on a "major manufacturer" combat pistol in about 75 years. Seriously... why does Glock do this? I've had several Glocks come from the factory with the front sight rattling around in the box. I firmly beleive that the tritium sight industry got a huge boost in the 90s because so many Glocks had to have sights replaced anyway. The ergonomics are horrible. The grip angle was obviously designed with the paradigm of shovels, knives, and other hand tools (where Gaston should have stayed), with no though to how the human hand works while using a pistol. The magazine release is bad, and the slide release is even worse (the two parts other than sights that most Glock owners replace). Glock even goes so far as to use their training (read: marketing) department to teach shooters not to use the slide release to close the slide, and then putting an improved part on their "Tactical" models. The trigger is lousy... but then again, lousy triggers are "in" these days. Sure, the reset is great, but that just means you get to deal with the water-gun trigger again that much faster. That's the three big ones for me. I don't put too much stock in the safety issues (a big enough idiot can shoot himself in the butt with anything), or the KB issues (the same big idiot can also blow anything up... although I do have to admit that the initial run of .40 guns were rushed into production and were deathtraps.) They might survive a dip in an active volcano, but I still won't like it when it comes out. DanO
  21. Damn... if Rabbi and I agree on something... it must be right. But seriously folks... can anyone name a better 9mm auto??? anyone??? DanO
  22. The P7 is the best 9mm pistol ever made, end of story. A more economical route would be the Star Firestar M43... great little guns, a shame that the Spanish government killed the firearms industry over there. Anyway, you can still find plenty of the Firestars out there, usually reasonably priced. DanO
  23. Sweet-ass pistol caliber ARs, Bandito.... been thinking about doing a shorty .45 upper, if I ever get my CavArms MG lower from ATF... DanO
  24. Okay, this thread made me break out the camera... here's my ratty old Glock 19... DanO
