  1. I have a couple of the Inforce WMLs that I really like. Not crazy expensive, very bright, and well designed.
  2. I had to resurrect this thread... I just realized I never showed TGO the finished product!
  3. I gotta shake my head at the "high maintenance" comments about ARs. A shot of lube on the bolt/BCG every 4-500 rounds is not what I'd consider too burdensome. Shotgunshooter, that is a nice AK... but not exactly "stock".
  4. Yep. That's a 51T AAC Brakeout on the front... the SDN-6 works very well with 5.56.
  5. Fun range toys, and I wouldn't feel unarmed fighting with one... but thoroughly outclassed by the AR-pattern gun for social purposes. Ergonomics are terrible, factory sights are terrible, optics mounting is a compromise at best, accuracy is marginal (mainly because almost all 7.63X39 ammo is cheap garbage.)
  6. Yes, it is. The PVS-14 goes on a helmet on my head. I have a couple of guns set up with mounts, but head-mounted with the IR laser is a heck of a lot more user-friendly. It takes a little getting used to (I need WAY more practice), because basically you do exactly what you tell new shooters with visible lasers not to do... you look over the top of the gun and find the laser spot instead of focusing on the sights.
  7. I rattle-can a lot of my guns expressly so I won't get bored with them and sell them later.
  8. I'm pretty sure I have the primary "social" rifle dialed in just like I want it. 10.5" 5.56:
  9. Are the clubs in TN embracing this new division yet? I'm taking a bit of a break from 3-gun (too much gear to prep and haul), and might consider coming back to USPSA for a bit to shoot this. PCC is really fun.
  10. I'm just interested as to how the curriculum/outline would develop, and the differences the dot would make in instruction. I never thought about it. (I doubt anyone has until about a year or so ago... dots were for USPSA Open guns). I hope you get enough students to make fleshing the class out worthwhile.

    Ok Sig

Somewhat off topic, and your situation is lousy with SIG, TNMP40... But a feed ramp polish is really easy (and safe) to do with a Dremel, buffing tips, and some polishing compound. If SIG won't make your gun right, you can.
  12. This ultra-confusing nonsense about renewal dates is pretty much exactly why I'm gonna pony up the 2 bills for the lifetime permit. Of course, mine isn't up until 2018, so they'll probably change it by then. I wonder if I could renew early....
  13. Hmm... interesting. I had no interest at $500, but I'll probably go ahead and pony up $200. The bad part is, the lifetime (and new 8-year renewal cycle), means we're never going to get NICS/TICS exemption for permit holders. Oh well, good news/bad news.
  14. Get about a foot of so of the plastic hose they sell for aquarium pumps. Put one end of hose over the back of the gas tube, and blow air through while aligning the block. Perfect alignment every time. Especially useful on funky barrels with no shoulder for the gas block. Lining up the ports in "two dimensions" as it were gets tricky... but this method gets them just right no problem.
  15. Mec-Gar makes the factory mags for CZ. (And a bunch of other gun makers).
  16. Yep. And big, solid objects are your even better friend.
  17. Brownells ran a sale over Memorial Day weekend and I finally ponied up. It's a very nice system (if pricey). Rock solid lockup, very high quality fit & finish. Good stuff.
  18. Makes for a nice, compact package. I think this will fit in the bike saddlebag now.
  19. When/if I can get an M9A3 with TN markings I'm all over it.
  20. I would put a bunch of rounds through a gun with an EFK barrel before I'd trust it. They don't have the best reputation in the world for quality and reliability.
  21. It is a bit disturbing... I too carry the 124gr Gold Dots. But I'm not going to get too wrapped around the axle over one incident, particularly if the NYPD is involved.
  22. People still buy guns in .45ACP for stuff other than range toys?
  23. Who can be the first to post a picture of a Beretta firearm with Tennessee markings in stock at a retail store?
  24. Color-coded mags for me.   If it's black and plastic, it's .300BLK.  Magpul = supersonic, Troy = subsonic.   OD green PMags = 5.56 75gr OTM   Any other mag = M193 equivalent.
