Basically, the guys at KAC built it just for the hell of it, and to show off at shoots, shows, and YouTube.

The M4 is Benelli's only gas-operated shotgun. The other Benelli autos use an inertia operating system, which is excellent, but very finicky about weight being added to the gun (like optics, lights, etc). The military wanted an autoloader that they could hang a bunch of stuff on, so Benelli designed one.

What he said. I've been out of the rimfire can market for awhile now (I already have a few), so I don't know whose can has what, but a monlithic core and an included takedown tool (or at least something that you can use some common tool to take apart) are must haves for a .22 can.... they get really nasty inside. I can't think of a single objective category where a decently-built doesn't outperform the Mini-14... including price if you incluse a decent amount of working magazines.

Interesting article from the Tennessean

Tennessee desperately needs to follow other states who waive the background check requirement for HCP holders. That would eliminate a large part of the TICS workload. -
macgyver-isms and the gun hobby.

I once used a 1996 Ford Thunderbird instead of a vice to swap barrels on an AR15.... that count? :woohoo: DanO -
People lose fights because they get outfought, not because they get outgunned.

Why the hate for Alonso? That's not crying, that's just being from Spain... they're an emotional people... lke Italy with less testosterone. Besides, if not for Roman "How the hell do you steer this thing?" Grosjean, Alonso wins the championship last year. He had a terrible car and was taken out in turn 1 or 2 races last year and almost won anyway!

I don't think it will work either, but it only costs a piece or two of brass to find out....

The sample size of lawful gun carriers involved in shooting is (thankfully) too small to do any sort of significant statistical analysis. Pure facts and stats, in most parts of the country anyway, would probably indicate that carrying a gun is a waste of time, as the likelihood of "needing it" is so little. I carry a gun not because of the odds I might need it, but because of the horrific nature of the consequences if I need it and don't have it.

Can-compatible muzzle brake
dcloudy777 replied to GoneBallistic's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
There have been a couple of 5.56 QD cans that were designed to use standard flash hiders, but I'm not aware of anything in .30 cal. -
Really smart piece of engineering, but I'm not sure if it's worth the expense (and risk of getting shot while folded) just to make the gun about 4-5" shorter. DanO

I didn't even shoot my Draco until I SBR'd it. Like Smith said earlier, adding the stock is super easy, and I know at least my gun had a big, beefy plate welded in the back that makes for a very solid attachment point for the stock. I really like the gun, I just got a new chrono so I'm eager to check some velocities, especially with the 154gr Wolf.

Eh... I've been operating with no class for as long as I can remember. :pleased:

Darn, I was hoping that the March match was going to be the classifier, but it still looks fun. I'm bringing the wheelgun again! DanO

SIG makes a pretty darn good 1911. They use an external extractor, sure, but it's basically the same one that is in the P-series guns that has been proven very reliable for decades now. Some 1911's with external extractors have proven disasterous (early Kimbers for example), but the SIG 1911s are GTG.

anyone know who makes the top stock in this trio?

Looks like FA Enterprises Contoured Adjustable... but I'm pretty sure the company is out of the stock business. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/898380/fa-enterprises-contoured-adjustable-target-rifle-stock-ruger-10-22-920-barrel-channel-birch-wood-laminate-natural-drop-in -
Buy some of these: http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/cartridge-dummies/shotgun-dummies-prod31872.aspx And practice loading.... then practice loading some more. Come shoot the big shotgun match at Rockcastle in April... there's a pump division.

It's getting close to spring (although you certainly can't tell this week)... we gonna do a TGO ride soon? DanO
