  1. Very dangerous precendent.... This time proposing a new gun law gets you locked up, 10 years from now, maybe it's proposing a tax cut that gets you locked up.
  2. Neat engineering... I'm not sure what it would be good for, but for 6 bills, who cares?      DanO
  3. Bummer... going to be shooting a match that weekend.
  4.   Definitely... I don't post over there, but I went to check it out last night, to listen to what I assumed was going to a lot of apologists and "devil's advocate" type stuff, but that wasn't the case.... the new rules are getting hammered over there too.
  5. So what the heck did he do to the gun to get it so mangled?
  6. Pretty cool.  Tempting to pay the SBR tax and rig up a folding stock.
  7.   That brings up another point.... does everyone have to re-classify now?  And what happens if your score would move you down?... since you aren't allowed to move down a class except for special circumstances....   If they were going to mess with the classifier anyway, they should have removed the tac-load/RWR stuff.  It's crazy to discourage "on-the-clock" fool's loads, and then put them on the clock in the classifier.
  8. I've never dumped rounds.... I have aggressively acheived fire superiority....
  9.   The rule just says "striker-fired".  The P7 was an SSP gun in the first rule book, it should have never been moved.
  10. Does this mean my P7M8 is back in SSP?   It's striker-fired....
  11. Remington RTG357M5   158gr SWC at 1235FPS.   I can't find it in stock anywhere right now, but it seems to be exactly what you need.
  12. Interesting... this new rule set looks like it may have potential.
  13. It's aways good to have new games popping up... some constructive criticism...   Waaaay too many equipment divisions.   Slung transistions are almost certainly gonna end up being a charlie-foxtrot.   "Open Bolt Indicators" (chamber flags) are the devil's work, and should be outlawed, not mandated.
  14. Very nice gun... purely out of curiosity, why .40 instead of 9mm?
  15. Well, that's why there's so many people, so all of the opinions have a place to be.  :usa:   My thoughts: (not that anyone asked).   The "tactics" encouraged by IDPA are at least as terrible as those in USPSA.  Peeking around corners and shooting bad guys in order works fine when you have cover and you know how many bad guys there are... but fights have a tendency to happen under uncontrolled circumstances.  Conversely, charging USPSA-style into a room full of attackers and trying to shoot them before they can shoot you is often suicidal, but sometimes it's the only chance you have of winning the fight.    The only "training" value of the action gun sports is gun handling and getting rounds on targets quickly... and USPSA just gives you more of that than IDPA.   If you won a fight because of ammo you retained, that's cool and I respect that, but I still think that you stand less of chance of losing because you didn't have enough ammo than losing because you were futzing around with magazines instead of fighting.   And "blind" stages would be great, but they're completely unworkable in a competitive setting... too easy to cheat.     DanO
  16.   Yeah, kinda.  Nothing personal, but IDPA just seems to be getting less and less about shooting, and more about where to stand and memorizing complex engagement patterns.  Splitting the smallest division (Revolver) into two even smaller divisions was just a terrible idea, and like I mentioned before, the retaining magazine thing is just about the most ridiculous rule I've ever heard of in any sport.      DanO
  17. So basically you want to shoot Bullseye with fishing vests?     Pass.  I might go shoot the occasional club match because it's close, but every new rule book has made IDPA worse, not better.   Now, get rid of the ridiuclously stupid retention load stuff and we're moving in the right direction.     DanO
  18. CDNN helps me keep myself more safe.     http://www.cdnninvestments.com
  19.   That particular gun is damascas steel, which means absolutley NO modern ammo.  (I wouldn't shoot it at all, but light blackpowder loads would probably be safe).   As stated earlier, the Stoeger guns (Turkish) are probably going to be your best bet.
  20. The SIG has already beem mentioned.  STI also makes some very nice single stacks in various sizes, starting at or below your price range.
  21. What is our recourse against the traitorous Tennessee Sheriff's Association?
  22. Honestly, it's his ridiculous stance on man-made climate change that bothers me the most.  Lamar used to be a good conservative, but he's been hoodwinked by the greenies.  :yuck:
  23. Not that long ago, nobody thought that we would ever have a GOP-controlled state legislature either.  The right candidate can make this happen... we have to take the state GOP back from the RINO's.  True conservatives have made GOP control of Tennessee happen... if we can do that, we should be able to win control of our own party.
  24. Nobody has emerged so far... maybe voting to end the gun conrol filibuster will be the proverbial straw.  I'm not plugged into Tennessee politics the wat some of you folks are, so who can we find?
  25. How does the "conference committee" process work in the state legislature?  I assume that the Senate will have to approve the bill as amended....
