  1. GLOCK is finally making an effort toward human ergonomics. For them that IS a big deal.
  2. I actually have one of these guns... seems pretty well made, the grip safety design is interesting. I've never even shot it... I need to dig up some .32ACP ammo and take it to the range.
  3. We're it me, I'd probably put the heaviest buffer I could find/make in it. If it short-strokes lighten the buffer until it runs reliably. A heavy hammer spring helps slow the bolt down as well, without increasing the bolt's forward speed like a heavier recoil spring would.
  4. Bravo Concealment's mag carrier (OWB) sits fairly high, and I'm pretty sure it can be ordered to ride even higher. It also makes a good platform for a sheath for "Plan B".
  5. I'd never trust anything rimfire for defensive use, the ammo itself just isn't reliable enough.
  6. More guns that shoot 10mm. Good.
  7. If he learns how to shoot a DA revolver well, he'll be at least a passable shot with any handgun he picks up.
  8. Pretty cool. That niche has some pretty stiff competition in it these days though, namely from Ruger and Savage. The T/C better be pretty nice if it wants a piece of that pie. The feature set reads like it should be very accurate.
  9. If you aren't married to leather, IMHO you can't beat Wilderness. Tough as nails, infinitely adjustable, just stiff enough to anchor the gun without being uncomfortable. And a big honkin' steel buckle you could cave a skull in with if you can't carry the gun. It's the most dangerous thing I've found that I can get on a commercial flight with.
  10. For me, .380s bigger then the LCP/P3-AT make absolutely zero sense, but whatever floats your boat.
  11. btq96r said it pretty well. In the end it depends on how your eyesight works (some folks don't see the EOtech reticle well... particularly those with astigmatism), but for me the EOTech is faster than ANYTHING inside of 50 yards. But the Micro is still really really fast, and I never have to turn it on. Out past 50 and beyond, there's not much difference between them.
  12. It's quite a bit out of your budget, by IMHO the Aimpoint Micro is still the tops for this sort of application. The PRO is a very good choice that gets closer to your price range. I love my Eotechs, and still use them on a lot of guns, but for social purposes you just can't beat the "turn it on, leave it on, runs for years" aspect of the Aimpoints.
  13. Some free-float tubes flex quite a bit, putting a front sight on them can be troublesome...
  14. As sad as it is, pumpguns don't really have a home in 3-gun anymore.
  15. The Geisselle trigger pack and trigger bow for the Tavor is pretty pricey, but very, very good.
  16. Yes, it absolutely does. That means attacking people is a really bad idea, because they might be armed and shoot you dead, in which case you've de facto waived your rights under the 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments.
  17. OP, what did you not like about the ARs you weren't impressed with? That might make a difference whether you need to buy "off the rack" or not.
  18. I really like the SIG P320C. I call it the Glock 19 concept fleshed out buy a gun maker.
  19. Glock pistols are different because of the silly backstrap hump. They feel different in the hand than pretty much anything else out there. They're also a touch wider in grip circumference than they need to be because of GLOCK's steadfast insistence on plastic magazines.

    H&K VP9

The H&K style mag release is awesome. I wish my P320 had it.
  21. That's incredible work, man.
  22. Instead of a "chest rig", think about a plate carrier. Basically it's chest rig that holds rifle plates.
  23. If you already have a bunch of Glock 33 rounders, the Glock mag lowers make sense. If not, I like the Colt pattern mags better... ASC makes them for Colt and IWI, and they sell them themselves cheaper than any Glock mag. They're also double-feed, which can make loading faster. I built mine on a CMMG dedicated 9mm lower and it runs like a raped ape. A mag block gives you more flexibility, but is never going to be as reliable as a dedicated lower. There are a lot of cool 9mm carbine options out now, but IMHO the AR pattern is the best of the bunch, if for no other reason than the gazillion options for triggers and furniture.
  24. ORCA make almost all of their stuff (all of the coolers) in the US... many right here TN where the are headquartered. http://www.orcacoolers.com/
  25. I was very surprised by the reasonable ammo prices... I figured everything would be jacked up through the roof. A couple of vendors had stupid prices, but most were pretty competitive. I would up buying 1K of PMC .223, because it was pretty much the same money as I could order it for.
