  1. I'm seriously considering wearing a helmet for the entire duration of the match.....
  2. Don't forget to factor in $200 for the SBS stamp....
  3. Good advice here.  The bolt and bolt parts are the most important.  You'd be amazed at how much of the LPK the AR will run without, in an emergency.
  4. Cons:  It's a full-size handgun, and thus not the easiest thing in the world to conceal.              The terminal effectiveness of the 5.7X28 round is lousy.  Even with the "real" ammo, which you almost certainly can't get, it has a terrible reputation as a fight stopper.  A large number of departments that adopted the P90 had stopped using them.    Pros:  It holds a bunch of rounds, and has a pretty decent trigger for a service gun.   Verdict:  Not my first choice.  Or in my top 20 choices really.
  5. Nice rifle.  I really like my Tavor, can'[t wait for the Geissele trigger.   FYI, it's really easy to tuck that remote switch and wire for the flashlight away under the hand guard and use the little button on the other side to activate the switch.  It makes for a very "clean" silhouette and the button falls easily under the thumb.

    SCAR 17

The SCAR 17 is a pretty neat rifle, but it does have features I don't care for, namely the proprietary magazine and reciprocating charging handle.  It's also crazy expensive IMHO for what it is.  If I was going to go high-end .308 auto (my DPMS with swapped furniture and trigger suits me just fine), I would build an AR pattern from top-shelf components.
  7. I've always wanted to have the means to do a "gun magazine"-style comparison shoot of the old-school uber-nines.   SIG P210 S&W 952 H&K P9S Sport Walther P88 Steyr GB
  8. Another vote for the Banshee.  I'm very happy with mine.
  9. Geissele and ShootingSights also are also supposed to be bringing trigger packs to market this spring.  As soon as I can get my hands on the Geissele I'll have one.
  10. The fact that the Lamar machine is spending this kind of money this early gives me much hope.

    Walther PPK

CZ82s in 9X18 used to be the handgun steal of the week.  I have one, I wish I would have bought a few more when you could get them under 2 bills.
  12. If it were local and I could do a FTF transaction, I might consider it.    But by the time you get it shipped and transferred you'll be getting closer to $500, and you can just about build an AR for that right now.
  13. I dunno, if it doesn't warm up, I may shoot with socks on both hands.
  14. Mags can only be discarded if they have an even number or rounds remaining.  Magazines with an odd number or rounds remaining must be stored inside the shooters weak-hand sock.
  15. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/01/01/remington-announces-r-51-pistol/ http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WgqtnA4t98U&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWgqtnA4t98U The guys from Gunblast and The Firearms Blog actually shot one, and both seemed impressed with it. There are several people on the R51 thread on Arfcom that handled it at SHOT and are planning on buying. This review reads like he just couldn't get past the grip safety. That's cool, not everybody "gets it". That's why they make so many different kinds. I think it's hilarious that he compares the gun to the P7M8, one of the finest handguns ever made, like it's a bad thing.
  16. Meh, the reviewer comes across like a typical kool-aid swilling Glock fanboy. Every other review I've read said that the trigger was excellent, and that the grip safety is very easy to activate and intuitive. Maybe this guy just got a bad one, or Remington kicked his dog or something.
  17.   Wow... epic firearms history fail.  Striker fired guns had been around for a few decades when Gaston Glock was born.
  18. Wilderness.  I have a couple, they're absolutely awesome belts.  Infinitely adjustable, tough as nails,  stiff enough to carry plenty of gear but still comfy.   And ideal for beating the bejeezus out of somebody causing trouble on a commercial flight.
  19. Indeed.  I have several Geissele triggers already, and a Tavor.  Even at $350, I'm buying one ASAP.
  20. NICS is unavailable more often than TICS.    But more importantly, I don't trust the feds to get rid of the data the way there supposed to.   Yes, the whole background check idea is a total waste of time and money, but it also isn't going anywhere.
  21. Surefire makes a good can, and probably the best QD system on the market.   IMHO, the SDN-6 from AAC is better though, and the Surefire cans are too much money.
  22. Mr. Geissele did a video for AR15.com/Brownells.  The Tavor trigger is supposed to go into production in March.
