I gotta second this.  My brother had one of the little .32 Tomcats way back when they were the hot little deep concealment gun.  He loaned it to his girlfriend, who purse carried it and scratched the hell out of it... it looked terrible.  Then he loaned it to our dad, who promptly took it apart, and lost some of it, and none of us had a clue how to put what was remaining back together anyway.   We box it up and send it to Beretta for repair, ask us how much, all that good stuff.  About 3 weeks later a brand new gun showed up.  No charge.  :up:

Pretty much gotta be too light of a mainspring (likely) or a worn firing pin that's just barely still long enough to ignite the primer on the heaviest possible hammer stroke (much less likely, but possible).

I love my Microtech.  It's the Ultratech model I think.  Yes, I spent way too much money on it, but I gotta a bunch of things I could say that about. I wouldn't trust it (or any OTF) to truly heavy use, but I've carried mine quite a bit and done basic utility stuff with it and it's pretty awesome.   With the new law, I'm probably going to get of the the UTX-70 little guys... mainly just because it's so adorable.  :cool:   I'm leaning toward a Piranha Bodyguard or Prowler for my official "HB 1883" celebration purchase though. 

Sounds like a old, tired mainspring.  It shouldn't cost more than about 10 bucks to fix.

I put a GG&G modular forearm on my rifle about 10 years ago.  You just bolt on rail sections wherever you need them.   Keymod is literally an groundbreaking advancement in the shape of... holes.   :rofl:

The 1911 is an excellent fighting pistol. It's one of my favorites, and one of the finest fighting handguns ever designed. That being said, it's a lousy choice for a general-issue sidearm.

Adding non-reciprocating weight will help with recoil much more than adding reciprocating weight.

An AOW shotgun is considered a "smoothbore pistol", and should be legal to carry with a TN HCP. That being said, it's not that great of an idea. Basically you'll be carrying a very heavy, awkward gun that holds very few shots and is going to be very difficult to hit anything.

Great work. This sort of nonsense from elected officials needs to be seen by as many people as possible. On a different note... I've been browsing knife sites on the internet the last couple of days.... This new law is going to cost me a fortune!

I just realized, come 1 July, we'll have "Constitutional Carry" here in Tennessee.   For knives anyway.    Maybe we can work on guns next year.   :up:

I'm not a huge Bill Haslam fan, but I don't think he's foolish enough to veto a bill that passed so decisively in both houses in an election year.  

If you've got a Glock and already have a bunch of the mags, it makes sense.   I don't, so I bought the CMMG dedicated lower that used the Colt pattern mags... and as soon as the Form 1 gets back it will have a 4.5" barrel.  :rock:

Assuming the Governor signs it, most Tennessee laws go into effect on 1 July.

Basically it will no longer be illegal to own and carry pretty much any kind of knife you want. Penalties for using a knife in a crime will be increased. Because of the pre-emption law passed last year, cities can't further restrict knife laws. I might go buy a Protech Large Don to celebrate. A switchblade with a 4.5" blade.

  Theoretically they can come to the address listed at any time to verify that the weapon is there.  However, I've had an open challenge going out for about 7 years now asking if any NFA stamp holder had ever had that happen, and nobody has reported it happening yet.   The bottom line is, if the BATF wants to come in and look at your stuff, they aren't going to care if it's legal or not.  :2cents:
