  1. That MSRP is a little disappointing.  I was hoping for around $1200.   I'll wait.  Tavor prices really came down after a year or so.
  2. Did you get to see the R&D department and sit in on a design meeting? :pleased:
  3. I really, really like my AAC SDN-6.   Works great on the .300BLK gun, 5.56, and .308.
  4. I bought a Molle-compatible one to attach to my pack a few years ago when I was flying to a big 3-gun match and couldn't bring the cart.  They can come in handy.  It actually held the Garand better than the shotgun.
  5. As far as how well each gun will do what service pistols need to do.... not a nickel's worth of difference between them.  Try to shoot both, and buy the one you shoot best.   For me, I prefer the M&P.  But in this instance, I'd probably buy the Glock, because 9mm conversion barrels are plentiful and cheap.
  6. VLTOR's stock is as good as anything out there.  I've had one on my primary rifle for about a decade now.
  7. That's pretty cool.  IWI appears to have fixed very nearly all of the AK shortcomings.   The folding "arm brace" 8.3" gun sounds pretty awesome.
  8. That's pretty cool... but what I'm really excited about....   http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1674562_OMG_success_30_cal_subsonic_expander_.html
  9.   They're neat guns, but I wouldn't want to rely on one for defensive purposes.  It might be really hard to get parts if something breaks.
  10. 9mm by a big margin.   Better performance and a lot better "platforms" to hold it than the .38SPL. Even my beloved S&W 37 backup gun has been replaced by a SIG P938.
  11. I really wish they would have made the magwell "look" like a USGI mag.
  12.   I'd buy a .22LR version of the Ruger LCP or Kel-Tec P32 in a heartbeat.
  13. The 59-series Smith magazine is actually the original mag for the little Kel-Tec rifle (the P-11 pistol uses a cut-down version of it as well).  I converted mine to take Beretta mags (I have a bunch of them), but in it's original S&W magazine configuration it ran great with Smith and Mec-Gar mags.
  14. King's Firearms in Columbia (disclaimer:  never been there) has quite a few of the Smith 3rd gen guns listed on Gunbroker, so they presumably have some you could go check out.   The triggers are actually quite good.  Some people can't "get" the DA/SA thing, but the S&W is probably one of the best of the breed.  Very smooth and not too heavy in double action, crisp and pretty light (albeit with a bit of takeup) in single action.   Mec-Gar (who makes OEM magazines for about half the gun industry) offer 17-round flush fit and 20-round extended mags for these guns.  I've tried both and they work very well.

    Ruger LCR 9mm

If the Ruger clips don't make the grade, Hearthco will fill the void rather quickly.  They already sell a moonclip through TK Customs that is about 1,000% better than the OEM clips.

    Ruger LCR 9mm

You guys have got it.  Smith did it with the 625-10 back a few years ago.  I really, really wish I would have bought one.

    Ruger LCR 9mm

If Ruger would have done it "my way" and cut the cylinder to fit the 9mm and set the barrel back, they could have got another 1/2" of barrel for the same size gun and made the energy even better.  :pleased:
  18. Don't feel bad, Camaro.   There aren't very many "gun people" that haven't been burned at least once by cheap mags.  I know I have.   :2cents:
  19.   Yep.  Same gun, different colors... just buy the one you like.  Or both.

    Ruger LCR 9mm

Cartridge consolidation and moon clips.   If Ruger would have cut down the cylinder to fit the 9X19 and added extra barrel in that space to pick up a little velocity, I probably would have bought one.
  21. But amazingly (and awesomely) permitless in-vehicle carry sailed through without a peep from the anti-freedom crowd.
  22. A TGO CMP Anniston trip would be pretty cool....

    Walther PPX ?

CDNN is selling several versions for $299 and less, with a bunch of free stuff.  Heck, that cheap might be worth rolling the dice, I dunno.
  24. Garands are awesome.     Shooting 3-gun with one is even more awesome.

    Potato guns

My little brother built one that used conventional hair spray (Aqua Net works best) AND propane.    I chrono'd a few shots and weighed a few projectiles.  It maybe USPSA "Major" pretty easily.
