  1. I just picked up my Stoeger Coach Gun at Academy Sports. It looks great. Wood is really good for a budget priced gun. Metal finish is slick. Forend and grip are checkered. Lockup is a bit tight but I suspect it will loosen up with use. $427 plus tax and BG check with an Academy 5% off credit card. Only problem is, Now I want a 20 Ga to go with it.

  2. Palmetto State Armory Carbine in Pristine Condition. I ordered it new from PSA and never fired it. It comes with the detachable carry handle. I no longer have the box ( used it to ship another firearm). Located in Lenoir City. $550

We pay a gas tax when we buy gas. I wonder if they have a tax on the electric people pay that own an EV?

I think I read someplace that Tennessee charges an extra $150 or $200 when you renew your registration on an electric vehicle to pay for road repairs.

The inflation of recent times has shown us people want their food cost back down, quickly.  That means migrant workers in the fields.  Nowhere close to even half of Americans are willing and able to meet the productivity to pay ratio of migrant.

Also, the news is queueing up their summer stories to fill time when Congress takes summer vacations once the debt ceiling is in the rear view.

See y'all back here in this thread or a new one in a few years.

We've got 20 million of them. How many migrant workers do we need?

  5. I heard someone on YouTube this morning saying New York now has 33,000 illegals and is spending one billion a year on public assistance for them. ( housing assistance, medical care, food assistance, cell phones, etc). With 5 million entering the country since Biden took office and figuring $27,000 per immigrant per year year cost to the government, which is what the governor of New York claims it costs, They are costing American taxpayers 130 Billion per year just for the 5 million that have come in since Biden opened the border.  This works out to $407 for every man, woman and child citizen in this country. If you are married and have two children your share of the migrant cost is $1,628 a year. Disclaimer, I have not researched these figures and am just repeating a YouTube poster but have no reason not to believe the figures.

So if you had your way, what is the fix to stop the mass border crossing if illegals.

I could fix it in a month. Require anyone employing anybody to do e-verify. Check potential employees just like they background check gun buyers. Anyone employing an illegal without contacting e-verify  gets one year in a federal prison. The illegals are coming here for work and government benefits. Cut out the work and free benefits and they will all go back to their home country. Lock up a handful of CEO's of big companies that employ illegals as an example and soon no one will take the chance of getting caught employing them. 90% of them would self deport within 30 days.

Pic of the left side? Does the left grip have the thumb rest? Up for a trip to Buc-ees? Jerky on me.

Picture of left side added No thumb rest. I might drive all the way to Buc-ees to buy a gun. Maybe even to trade one.  Just not to sell one.  Sorry.

Just want to post this as the poll for “TNGOers by age” showed there was a lot of seniors.

My neighbor i shoot with and garden for was able to get a “senior” property tax freeze. Basically he didn’t have to do the last increase for Davidson county which I believe was In 2020…

The other crime is home insurance  No BS my home insurance has increased 50% since ‘18. Every year it seems I’m $500 short on my escrow (I realize it occurs I just don’t deal with resetting up the escrow). I shopped around home insurance a year ago, after this years 18% increase I need to get on it.

Out of spite I get the daydream to throw a couple pounds of bacon in a shallow skillet on high and take the dog for a looong walk and build the house on the higher ground that gets more sun.

Unfortunately Loudon County does not offer a SENOIR Tax Freeze. Too many older wealthy people with lakefront property living in Tellico Village. They do not want to lose that extra revenue.

Had friends in town with the same Maverick that Eray has. For the out the door price that truck was awesome. In this lousy economy if I could have scooped it up for what he paid I would have.

    Current lineup:

02 Frontier Kingcab with 299,996 miles. This thread reminded me I need to take it for a cruise. Bought off of a buddy who took it hunting in all 50 states and worked at a body shop.
02 4 runner with 313-315kish on the odometer. Bought from an old boss who I watched put full synthetic, replace timing chains every 100k miles, etc. That’s our camper/occasional blind.
02 Accord V6 EX. Bought off a little old Dutch lady through marketplace with flawless maintenance records, made it to 190k on the odometer and until I smoked a deer (and over corrected into a tree) on back roads… was a delight. Now it’s a parts car for my daily.
Daily driver: 08 accord with 260k. I drive a lot, get around 24 mpg with a heavy foot. The dog has destroyed the backseat, I can’t get this thing to die even with burning a quart or so of oil every 1500 miles.

I buy from people I know, that know how to maintain cars. It drives her nuts that I have basically a used car lot in my driveway. It gives me peace of mind knowing I have options. Compromise. I don’t complain about the walk in closet vs my one rack and chest of socks and boxers.

All that being said, I would clear out the driveway and make some more space for range days to have that maverick I spent the weekend in. 4 people fit very comfortable, enough giddy up, good mpg to justify a truck as a daily driver. Big enough bed to get me to Home Depot every spring for mulch and dirt, Sheetrock, odds and ends projects. I was a huge fan being the DD one night. For what it’s worth I spent two hours looking into trying to see what the OTD cost was and if it was worth my time to deal with tire kickers on FB marketplace. I like my privacy so that’s why things typically end up posted here for free/trade. I will now spend another half hour debating if I should play the dealership game.

I've had mine for 16 months now with no problems. Hauled two recliners in the little bed. Moved a gun safe and 1,000 pounds of lawn fertilizer. Gets about 27 miles to the gallon. So far I am very pleased with it. Mine was just a bit over $24,000 out the door with taxes and everything . If anyone is interested in one, Ford is opening the order banks to dealers for 2024 models on July 17. You will need to see a dealer and order quickly when the order banks open as the orders for 2023 models all sold out last year in 5 days. They got 100,000 orders in 5 days. That is all they can build in a year.

  10. Simichrome Polish. Made in Germany. I believe I got mine from Brownells. Put some on a soft cloth and lots of elbow grease. It does wonders. I put it on a toothbrush and use it to remove powder residue off the cylinder face of stainless revolvers.
