  I am a member over on fflonly forum. Several FFL's on there charge extra for orders from Buds. Not because it is anymore trouble to deal with Buds, but because they do not like Buds pricing many of their firearms at close to dealer cost. Buds is hurting the stocking dealers profits and they are trying to get some of that money back.

I used to operate a gun shop. I have gritted my teeth several times to keep from saying anything to some clown stacking two new pistols on top of each other. I realize many customers do not think about what they are doing, so I never said anything. They also never bought either gun after stacking them both and field stripping them both. What really gets you, is when a customer comes in and looks at a gun, disassembles it,  then asks if you have a new one back in the safe that has not been handled.

I believe I would have borrowed her $4800 in order to keep that truck. That is one good looking machine.

Resellers are supposes to attach the ammo tax stamp to each box of ammo for sale. If a game warden finds you selling it without the tax stamp, he will confiscate the ammo and the state will auction it. If you are selling ammo like at a gun show, you can buy the tax stamps by contacting the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. I think they come 100 to a sheet for $10.00.

Just called them and ordered two. They had one stainless left for $50 more.

I built a new boat dock in Lenoir City a few years ago. I found the lowest prices on lumber at Sweetwater Valley Building Materials on Hwy 11 in Sweetwater. I saved several hundred dollars off the big box store prices.

I have 12 1911's and only 6 Glocks, so it would be safe to say that I like metal guns better. But if my life were on the line and my gun absolutely had to work, I would pick up a Glock.

I personally like Number 4 Buckshot better than 00. That being said, at inside the home ranges, I do not think it will make much difference what shot size was used if you get hit with a 12 Gauge.

Last year when I attended the Glock Armorer class at the factory in Smyrna, My instructor had just started teaching classes after working 5 years in Glock's warranty department. He said one of the biggest reasons for Glocks being returned for warranty service was people installing metal guide rods. He said the Glock frame is designed to flex when firing and things tend to work better if the guide rod flexes with the gun. I have no dog in this fight and if you like a metal guide rod go for it, but I will stick with what Glock thinks works best.

I have 12 1911's. My favorite of all of them is the Springfield Armory Loaded Model. I have the standard parkerized model with factory night sights. I bought it new off Gunbroker about a year ago for $735.00. I like it about as well as my $1300.00 TRP and I like it a lot better than my Colt Government Model That I paid $900.00 for.

I used to be a big fan of the aluminum mags from OK, Center Industries, and D&H.  After using the Magpul  Pmags for a couple of years, I am a convert. The follower slides so smooth inside the mag body that you would think it was greased. Also the Pmags do not rattle like an aluminum mag.

Lipseys shows them in stock but they are allocated. If your local FFL dealer has a good relationship with his Lipseys sales rep, he might be able to get you one. When I want a special gun, I usually just buy one off Gunbroker. Even after paying shipping and a transfer fee, it is still usually cheaper than buying from a local gun shop and you have a much larger selection.

Dealer cost on one is $258.00.I would think you should be able to find one around $299-$319.

That is a New York trigger. It just snaps down into the trigger housing. It was designed to increase the trigger pull weight. If you have the standard little trigger spring, just install the standard trigger spring and leave the New York trigger out.

Speaking as a former gun shop operator. If I got something impossible to obtain, I usually saved it and offered it to the 20 or so regular customers who seemed to buy about a gun a week each. You have to reward your good customers. If that means you don't have any for the stranger who walks in off the street ,so be it. That system worked for me. I played around with it for 9 months and averaged selling 5.2 guns a day.

I have owned dozens of the J frames over the years in all configurations. In my opinion they are the best concealed carry guns out there. I do not like the centennial. It feels odd in my hand. Like something is missing from the top and it is going to slide down. The Model 60 is a great little gun, but a bit heavy and the hammer sometimes snags on my coat pocket if I get in a hurry to get it out. I still have 5 j frames but my favorite is a satin nickel 638 that I have carried for about 20 years. The finish is a bit worn, but you would be surprised how good it  still looks after 20 years of carry in an inside the waistband holster. It wears a crimson trace laser grip for when my wife takes it someplace with her. I have over 30 handguns but whenever one of us goes someplace it is usually the one that goes with us. I have been a gun dealer and owned hundreds of handguns. In my opinion the 638 is the best of all of them.

I have had worse experiences than Comcast. I just can't think of one right now.

This. The usual penalty around here is about $250.00 in fines and court costs and the loss of your gun.

My son-in-law worked several years as a county deputy. Now is Assistant Police Chief. He says as long as you have a proper backstop it is perfectly legal. If you do not have a proper backstop, you can be charged with reckless endangerment. If you are shooting at night, you could be charged with disturbing the peace.

I'm not that crazy, but my personalized license plate reads ( GUN NUT ).

Main advantage I see to it is the lighter trigger pull. I have a Bodyguard and a LCP and both carry great but the long trigger pull makes them hard for me to shoot well. The Glock is larger making it harder to pocket carry but the better trigger pull might make it worth the larger size.

Open carry is legal and should remain legal. That being said, I lived most of my life in this state in a time where it was illegal for most people to carry a firearm. I do not want to go back to that time. Many citizens of this state do not believe as we do, and think no one should have a right to carry a firearm. When you open carry, you, in a way, rub their noses in it. Get enough of them calling their representatives and we could one day go back to no firearm carry. We have finally gotten back a portion of our constitutional right and I do not want to in any way contribute to losing it again. If you disagree, fine open carry if you want. I will be more careful about not waking the sleeping dog.

Sounds like a good deal. They are selling on Gunbroker for $600. Over on FFLONLY forum the dealers are saying that distributors have a boat load of them ready to release on Jan 20. Supposedly Glock foresaw the demand and produced a large quantity this time before releasing them. We shall see.

Farm bureau has been good to me the last 20 years. 2 or 3 claims, all paid promptly with no hassle. Got my commercial building through Shelter. Would have checked Shelters prices on homeowners but the Athens office was posted.

I wouldn't think that they would be liable as long as they sold it legally. At any rate, I carried a million dollar liability policy through the NRA Business Alliance just in case something like this came up. I would think about all gun dealers carry insurance nowdays.   I would not say 99 percent of denials are overturned, but out of about 20 I had denied probably 15 were later approved. I think this shows that they are causing extra problems for a lot of innocent people. I also bet that all 20 were counted in the statistics showing how many criminals are prevented from buying guns each year by instant check.
