In my case the renter had a good job with the railroad and seemed like a good bet. His check for the deposit and first months rent bounced. 6 months and several attorney fees later we got them evicted. Left about 100 bags of garbage in one bedroom and 2 worn out sofas behind. Went to court and sued him. Got a judgment for $3600. Judge allowed them to pay it at $100 per month. They made one $100 payment then declared bankruptcy.
I have one rented now. The renter has paid on time every month so far ( 6 Months ). Still had problems with the sewer stopping up. The plumbers dug it up 3 times before figuring out it was a problem with the utilities departments main. Utilities department repaired it after the lawn had been dug up 3 times .
I rented out a house several years ago and had to evict the renters because all the neighbors were calling me complaining about how loud the tenants were.
I don't think that I will ever rent out anything again.

If they aren’t fit for duty handguns are destroyed. I’ve heard rumors that M14’s and M16’s have been converted to semi-auto and donated to Police Departments. But I don’t know that for sure.
Although the M4 is more desirable the M16 is still a functional battle rifle (if you are okay with .223), we (taxpayers) paid for those M16’s and the government should be required to keep them in the event we would need them, as long as they are functional and safe. The M16's have been donated to police departments without converting to semi-automatic.

I would not have a problem with background checks but for the fact that they want the serial number and description of the firearms. This is not checking out purchasers records. This is forming the ground work for a gun registry one day.

Honestly, I'm not upset the news has let it be. The last thing I'd care to see is it plastered all over the news about the carnage that will ensue after it becomes law... I'll happily inform those who may have an active interest in car carry, though!
It might be a good thing to have it plastered all over the news. My son-in-law is a police officer and neither he nor his fellow officers were aware of it until I let them know. I'd hate to see someone arrested unfairly due to law enforcement not knowing about the new law. Charges would be dismissed, but that would probably be after a ride to jail handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser. I say educate everyone about it.

Well, today was the day the law took effect! I wonder how many tennesseans took advantage of possibly the greatest advance in TN Firearms statutory law since the HCP came around?
I'd bet 9 out of 10 Tennesseans do not even know about it. The news media has covered some of the other legislation taking effect July 1, but not a word about legally carrying in your car. If not for this forum and the NRA, I would not be aware of it.

I always put in my ad that Seller will be required to sign a Bill of Sale. It is not a legal requirement but a lot of things not legally required are still a good idea. I expect you to sign that you are legally permitted to own a gun and I want your name and address. I also put my name and address on the bill of sale. This protects me if you ( or whoever you sell the gun to ) leave it at the scene of a crime. It also protects you if the officer who stops you for speeding next month finds your gun and runs it and finds it to be stolen. I am not turning this info over to the ATF and if you have nothing to prevent you from legally purchasing a gun, I don't think most reasonable people will object to this. I certainly have no problem signing a Bill of sale when purchasing a Firearm from you. If you have a problem signing one for me ( Just Buy Your Gun Someplace Else.)

I carry in order to protect you and the rest of the sheep.

The NRA is probably right this time. Sometimes the best way to preserve our gun rights is to not rub the other sides noses in it.

Dealer cost on a new S&W 686 Deluxe with wood grips and 3 inch bbl is $614. Dealer cost for a Talo 686 with wood grips and 3 inch bbl and unfluted cylinder is $658. Both are allocated and hard for dealers to get right now.

I have considered giving up my personalized license tag for this very reason. Just hate to lose it after 20 years. Only plate number I could ever remember. It now reads " GUN NUT".

I had a new boat dock built about 8 years ago with a metal roof. It has a couple of places on the underside of the plywood where the screw gasket has leaked and the plywood is turning dark around the screws. Wish I had went with shingles. After this experience, I would never put a metal roof on my house.

It'd be nice to the TN-AG to write an opinion on this.
Be careful what you ask for.

Is this thing cheaper than a 12 pound New York trigger at $2.00 ?

I wonder why the status of this bill does not show "Transmitted to Gov. for action." as other passed legislation does.

Maybe the Governor doesn't want to see it.

And I totally didn't buy seven of them last Thursday either...
You better get more. I bought 20 the first time, then they sent me a code for free shipping and I ordered 10 more.

Has anyone heard any rumors as to when Haslem might sign this. I have my hopes up but nothing is for certain until the fat lady sings or in this case the governor signs.

If you want a handgun to show your buddies, get a 1911. If you want a handgun to use like a chainsaw, get a Glock.

Actually no, we got hammered in 1870, when the "Intent to go armed" clause was introduced, and the Citizens of Tennessee lost their Right to bear arms, all in one fell swoop as they say.
I must not have been watching the news back then and missed all that. First gun laws I remember was 1968.

Baby steps. We got all these repressive laws a little bit at a time. We are beginning to get rid of them a little bit at a time. Just be thankful that the momentum now seems to be in our favor.
Makes you kinda wonder....

I have a cousin who is a Marine. He brought back one of the giant pictures of Saddam that were posted everywhere. It would cover a whole wall. I thought it was a nice souvenir.
