Yep, but at least they have gotten away from the stupid visa cards loaded with $10 ( or whatever).

They will not stop it though because

    1. It keeps people from price matching. Most of the places will only match the out the door price.

    2. They get to use $20 x 100000 people for 8-10 weeks.

They also know that a significant number of people will never get around to sending in the rebate. I bet we would be surprised at the percentage. If 25% don't take the rebate that would be a lot of money.

Good Lord, the .22LR is 2.5 cents a round in hand. Never thought we'd see that again!

I just got 5 boxes of the .22 at Academy Sports in Knoxville for $49.99 each. Price on the pallet says $69.99 but it rings up $49.99. After rebate $29.95. That's what I was giving for it 45 years ago.

My shingle roof was replaced due to storm damage about 5 years ago. $11k for a 2000 sqft house with high quality shingles. Powder coated metal roofing was north of $20k.

This is probably in the ballpark. I built a new 2000 sq ft house with a 10/12 pitch and dimensional shingles. It ran right at $8,000. It was a steep roof to work on but they had no old shingles to take off. Around here you can figure $60 to $75 per square to put the shingles on plus the cost of materials and the cost to remove the old one.

  4. I have sold three homes in the last 2 years. Did all of them without a real estate agent. Everyone looks on Craigslist. I could sell them cheaper without the realtor and the Buyer got a better deal. Nothing against realtors, I just think their fees are a bit high for the service they provide.

  5. Do a Google search for Chilhowee Rod and Gun Club. t is on County Road 675, Athens. They have a great rifle range, sheet and trap ranges and a clubhouse. Very reasonable membership fees. Also since you are from Etowah there is a public rifle range in the Cherokee National Forest just below town off Hwy 411. It is called G Creek range.

  6. As an old man who knows nothing about computers or email, I have learned something new. I have never marked TGO mail as spam but I have other senders. Never realized that it negatively affected them. I always thought my email account put them in my spam file and that was the end of it. I'll be a bit more careful from now on about who's email I mark as spam.

  7. My advice would be to do the right thing and move on without causing any problems. You gain nothing by causing him problems and you will feel better knowing you tried to do the right think. Life throws problems at us all the time. You can't let them get to you.

  8. I don't think we can really determine which side of these proposals Trump will come down on. I don't really think Trump even has any idea what he is talking about. We all know Trump takes one position then completely changes his position the next day. Tomorrow he will be probably be denying saying any of these things that we just saw him spouting off.

Have been thinking about renting for a while also, then buying. Got a year or so we will see. Good luck and thanks for the reply

We rented a townhouse and loved it. Once we decided area we wanted to live in we were able to be very picky about what we wanted. We plan on retiring in this home. Found some that were close but we kept waiting until the perfect house came available. Not having to jump on something immediately was nice. Housing market is crazy in this area right now. If you see something you can't take too long to decide.

I am retired and we had a new house built on Ft. Loudon Lake. I plan to spend whatever time I have left watching a fishing bobber. Lenoir City has everything I need.

We just bought a house in Lenoir City. Will be moving in next couple months. Just rented for almost 3 years until we found exactly what worked for us and knew we liked that particular area. My office is on Kingston Pike and my wife works in Sweetwater and Etowah so perfect location for us.

Just moved to Lenoir City myself. Lived in Etowah 40 years and decided to retire on the lake in Lenoir City. Love it here.
