  1. Ruger Wrangler with Super Walnut Altamont Grips. Gun is in great shape. Comes with box and factory paperwork along with the factory grips. I bought this from another forum member a few months ago, fired it a few times and stuck it in the safe. I am now wanting a Henry lever 22 rifle and can better justify it by selling this one. Located in Lenoir City. $200.

  2. When you get to be my age, you will realize that $100 makes no difference in your standard of living and it is worth it to live stress free. Besides, with no stress, I could still live long enough to come out ahead. I still wish I could buy my lifetime drivers license for $200.

to each his own, but the logic of pre paying the government seems to be contradictory.  My luck, I pay for 'lifetime' and then fall over dead the next month.

Could happen I guess. But I am 71 and bought my lifetime 6 years ago. I would be looking at a renewal 2 years from now. Two years from now when it comes time for a renewal instead of worrying about getting my permit renewed, I plan to be sitting down on my boat dock with a fishing pole and not a worry in the world.

    Can you post your source?

This states "Since 2009, there have been 278 mass shootings in the United States, resulting in 1569 people shot and killed and 1000 people shot and wounded."
    https://everytownresearch.org/maps/mass-shootings-in-america/

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/811504/mass-shooting-victims-in-the-united-states-by-fatalities-and-injuries/

  5. I just did a quick google search for how many people in the USA died in mass shootings. It appears that out of 350,000,000 people 1,051 have died in mass shooting incidents from 1982 to July 4, 2022. While any death is one too many, I would probably consider 1,051 out of 350,000,000 over a period of 40 years in order to preserve our liberty a reasonable trade off. We have fought a lot of wars for a lot less and lost many more lives. The danger from mass shootings is way overblown.

if renewal every 8 years online is what some of you consider a hassle, I need some help with my day to day life 🤪

Anytime I deal with the government, I consider it a hassle. I wish I could go ahead and purchase a lifetime drivers license to go with my lifetime gun permit. Then I would never have to set foot in the DMV again.

He could be mentally ill or he could be just f’n evil. There was a lot of premeditation in his actions. He should be held accountable. I don’t care what side of the political fence he claims. He has no soul.

I simply posted the pictures for those who always see the antifa boogeyman to show that there were other pictures out there showing the murderer as a fanboy of TFG. Again, his politics don’t matter, just give him a fair trial and let the chips fall where they may.

I tend to agree with this. Out of 350,000,000 people in this country odds are you are going to have a few that are just purely evil. With this many people and a certain percentage of them just plain evil, it is surprising that we have as few mass killings as we do. Actually we don't have that many. The media just blows up everyone that we do have.

I ponied up for the Lifetime at my first renewal to make all the timing with the DL moot.

I ran the math out on it an it probably won't save me money (or if it does, not for a long time) but it does save me hassle and I like to keep my life simple so it was well worth it.

Same thing here. I got a Lifetime and I was 65 years old. I won't save any money but I was afraid one day they might not let me leave the nursing home to go  renew my permit.

What if i’m a person that despises both political parties, want other human beings to be treated fairly and respectfully, likes guns, but has several other interest that keeps me from obsessing over everything gun related on a daily basis?
    Can I still be here?

Also, I don’t think there are any liberals on TGO. They get run off as soon as they give an opinion. The people some of you may think are liberals, I think they are just free thinkers not afraid to be verbally assaulted by a few thousand guys who happen to twisted a little too tight.

How boring a life if most people agree on everything. How can you learn anything?

Yes you can still be here. We will all still be friends. You just won't be considered hardly as radical as the rest of us. LOL

Told y’all nothing was going to happen concerning gun control. Even the bipartisan gun bill before the senate is really nothing when you think about it. I have no problem with making 21 the legal age to purchase a rifle. I don’t like the proposed red flag laws. That’s a law just waiting to be abused.

Conservatives have the Supreme Court that they wanted. Robert’s court has consistently shown that it rules in favor of conservative issues.  I think the older folks paranoid about the big gun grab can relax for the duration of their lives. Younger individuals are good to go for the foreseeable future.

We’re good to go, and the Democrats are happy the SC is letting them off the hook as far as gun control.

I wouldn't be crowing too loudly. If not for 2 Democrats ( Joe Manchin and Kirsten Cinema) we would be in serious trouble right now. The Democrats would have abolished the filibuster and packed the Supreme Court with liberal Democrats if not for just two people who refused to budge. Without these two, Biden would have outlawed assault rifles and 9 MM pistols by now. By the time he left office we would have been lucky to own a slingshot. I shutter to think how close we came to losing.

  11. Great facilities and a great bunch of people. I belonged a few years ago before I moved away from the area. Membership fees were low. Back them $50 a year if you attended 3 meetings a year or performed 3 hours of community service. They had a pistol range, rifle range, two skeet ranges, a trap range, a private fishing lake, and a nice club house. When you went to shoot there was seldom anyone else there and you had the range to yourself. I am 50 miles away now but have considered rejoining. I think you will like it.

What do you think  about the Maverick?  Do you still like it?  How is it size size  inside?  Does it have all the tech?

It has loads of room inside. Four people are very comfortable in it. Only thing I have noticed is the engine seems a little loud. I guess a $22,000 truck does not have a lot of sound insulation. I bought the plain XL model because it was so much cheaper. When you get into the XLT and Lariat models they have all the bells and whistles of the large trucks. Even the XL model has remote start from you phone. Check your tire pressure and fuel gauge from your phone. My EcoBoost has been getting between 29 and 30 miles per gallon.

Seen nothing but a pic of them so far. Looks good. Will it handle a 6x10 enclosed trailer?

With EcoBoost engine you can get a 4,000 lb towing package. The hybrid is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. My little EcoBoost is rated at 250 HP. It will really take off. It's not as nice as a new F150 but it only costs half as much.

Want a nicer truck myself. Current one just isn't getting it for me. Would really like to go the Toyota route, but I don't have enough blood to sell and pay for a truck!

Prices are the worst I've seen in years. About the only ones happy with the situation are the blankety-blank dealers!

Sorry Magic(carpetrides), not personal. Just a generalization. lol

I can't afford a $50,000 new truck so I bought a new Ford Maverick truck for $22,100. It's got a pretty small bed on it but I hauled a 10 ft stepladder home in it yesterday.

Hard to find a more proven man stopper than the tried & true .357 magnum.

Very true. I did read an article one time where they tested a Glock Model 32 against a S&W 4 inch .357 Magnum. Used Winchester 125 Ammo in both to compare the calibers. The .357 Sig was actually about 50 FPS faster due to the cylinder gap in the revolver using the same bullet. So my reasoning was a Glock with 13 rounds and less recoil shooting the same bullet 50 FPS faster would be an improvement on the .357 Magnum.

Is that chrome with a matte finish? My teeny screen here makes the cylinder and barrel look kind of shiny while the body/frame appears very matte. I like the hammerless variety, but is it DAO? It’s a nice piece

They are double action only.  I believe the frames are aluminum for weight reduction and the barrels and cylinders are stainless steel.
