Hello everybody!
I'm 27, married, and have lived in middle TN my whole life.
I don't consider firearms and the second amendment to be "hobbies" in my case, so Im really joining just to have access to a community in hopes of being able to learn and provide what I can in return. I've come to the conclusion that even my friends who have guns and shoot don't really seem to have any interest in improving their skills, and I believe this would be an excellent place to find more likeminded individuals.
In regards to my shooting skills, I would put myself at an intermediate level.
I come from a family of hunters and hobbyist shooters, so firearm safety, manipulation, and familiarity of mechanisms and operation are all second nature to me. I would just like to improve my skills shooting under stress and other related skills. I'd also like to compete at some point, I'm a pretty competitive person.
I read a lot, don't watch TV, listen to a fair bit of podcasts and have recently discovered a love of audiobooks. Used to powerlift but an injury and complacency has kept me from that, though I am interested in getting back on that horse. My wife and I enjoy hiking and wear out any trails or greenways within 50 miles of us.
Miscellaneous stuff: Oldest of 4 siblings, and the only boy. I put my playlist on shuffle and go from Johnny Cash to John Coltrane to Iced Earth to MF DOOM. I like what I like and am unapologetic about it. I love to learn and talk about just anything, but when I don't know enough to speak, I am more than happy to listen and learn. Never served in any branch of the military, I'm just a blue collar stiff making a living and trying to sharpen my skills.
I'm an open book so any questions, feel free to ask.
