Custom Belt, holster, and mag pouch going to new home
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thank you John75, I have made a few in this distressed style and I'm sure I will be doing more, I will be posting more pictures once I get my knife sheath done to match the distressed cross draw holster I made a while back. -
A sneak peak at a couple new designs in the works
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thanks I thought they turned out pretty well and they carry well too. Thanks for the kind words hipower, it was a pleasure to build that holster for you. If I can get ahold of a mold or a real pistol I can make it, I have made a few others since these were posted on here. This one was made for a Ruger GP100 Match Champion the only difference is the customer wanted a thumb break but it rides about the same as the SAA in the pictures above.... -
Custom Belt, holster, and mag pouch going to new home

It would be my pleasure just send me a PM when your ready and we will go from there. GT I have you to thank for this style of distressing, that Kukri I did for you was the first one I have ever done that way and it got a lot of attention on my end. The guy that got this rig absolutely loved that knife and sheath so since he couldn't buy the knife at the time he had me make this set for when he goes to Steampunk events. To everyone else, thanks for the compliments. I do appreciate the feed back, -
Just got finished with the belt, the holster and mag pouch were done a while ago , but I wanted to photo them all together. Holster and pouch are left hand Avenger style for a GLOCK 43.

A sneak peak at a couple new designs in the works

I haven't done one for a Shield with laser but I have done other holsters for ones with lasers and I have made holsters for the shield line so it wouldn't be a problem. I would just need to know if its the built in laser or a CT laser. I would have to see if I can get a mold for the 19 as I don't currently have one but if I can find a mold I can make it as well I believe its a K frame so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Just let me know if I can help. -
So I have been asked lately to make some crossdraw holsters so I have decided to work on a couple designs. The main thing that makes them a little different is the angle (at least I think it is different, lol). I made these to be a little more extreme than most of what is available as that's what I am getting asked for. The first one was made for a S&W 686 2.5" barrel and can be made for just about any medium to large frame revolver. The second one is not for everyone but I had to do it, lol. This one is for a 4.75" barrel SAA I still need to do a little tweaking but I wanted to show what I have been working on lately. Thanks For looking

Handgun storage in gun safe
1911alltheway replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
This is what I have been using... https://www.amazon.com/Gun-Storage-Solutions-Handgun-Hanger-2/dp/B0056GSCBM/ref=as_sl_pc_ss_til?tag=accuratescom-20&linkCode=w00&linkId=&creativeASIN=B0056GSCBM As others have said though they do flex a bit more than I would like, but they do work for now I just try to put the heavier pistols on the top of the shelf so if they do bend my pistol wont end up at the bottom of my safe. I would also agree the best solution is probably another safe, lol, that;s what I am planning on especially since my wife has started to invade the safe to store her items in. If another safe isn't an option and if you don't find something you like that is currently on the market then perhaps find a good wood worker and see if you can have some racks made that will hold what you need for the space you have available maybe something like a pull out rack that uses the whole depth and width of the shelves, or something along those lines. Just my thoughts they may or may not be good so take it for what its worth, lol -
I'm so happy to hear that your holster is everything you wanted it to be. It was a fun project, I like to do things a little different than what is already out there when I get the chance. Enjoy the holster and if I can do anything else in the future just let me know. Thanks for the kind words everyone.

OWB Glock 19 holster going to new home

Thank you for the kind words GT. This was a fun project and a challenge. I had been wanting to do something with knot work on it for a while now so I was pleased when you asked me to do this sheath. You definitely keep me on my toes with the beauty of your knives. and let me just say this was an impressive knife, who ever gets this is definitely getting a work of art. I had to fight everyone off as I was working on it as everyone that saw it was drawn to it, LOL.

Just thought I would post a couple pics of the G19 holster I'm getting ready to send out. This one is a left hand draw OWB Thanks for looking

I'm glad you like the sheath. You have a gorgeous knife there. Its always a challenge to make a sheath to compliment GTs knives.

Playing around with a new holster design
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thanks for the compliments. I think it turned out pretty good, and thanks to GT for getting me started in the heavy distressed look, I've done a few sheaths and holsters like that and its becoming one of my favorite looks. Now to make a mag pouch to match -
I haven't posted anything in a while as I've been busy remodeling 2 houses so I thought I would post a couple pics of a new design I have been working on. This one is for a Springfield XD Mod2 9mm sub compact cross draw. I decided to do my heavy distressing on this one.

Anybody on here make leather holsters?
1911alltheway replied to jeff43's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I can make you one if I can find a mold for it, or find someone local who will loan me a pistol to do the molding. My average price for a OWB pancake holster is $80.00 for a basic molded holster. -

My new Knife from Grand Torino and sheath
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thank you. The wood is actually book matched Ironwood the pictures just don't do it justice. GT's work keeps impressing me the more I see it, I own and have owned a lot of knives and for the money GT makes a better knife. -

My new Knife from Grand Torino and sheath
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thanks every one, GT makes some really nice knives and its always a pleasure to make a sheath that compliments them. -
Just thought I would post up a couple pics of my new knife I got and the sheath I made for it. The knife of course was made by Grand Torino, book matched Ironwood scales with copper liners and pins. I felt the knife deserved a special sheath that would hopefully match it looks, so I got to designing, and this is what I came up with... The sheath is made as more of a high ride. I used a 1 Oz copper Gadsden coin to compliment the copper in the handle along with some distressed tan ostrich leg inlay, then dyed it black to set it all off. I think it does the knife justice. Thank you Grand Torino for the beautiful knife, I hope the sheath does it justice.

My wife is a teacher and while she doesn't have her permit yet,(only because she can't carry at work where she is at most of the day) but she is more than willing to get it and take whatever training necessary paid for or not to protect the children in her school. I'm pretty sure some of her coworkers feel the same. Now for the record she is going to get her permit she just hasn't yet, she's been waiting on my daughter to have the time to go on a "girls day" so they can do it together.
-
Thanks GT, after doing the sheath for your Kurkri, it just seemed to fit the Karambit as well.
-
This one is for my oldest daughter. Since her birthday is this month I had Grand Torino make a Karambit for her, she saw one he had done before and loved it. The sheath is made so it can be worn in multiple positions (horizontal tip up, tip down, or vertical). The distressing was inspired by the Kurkri sheath I did for Grand Torino but done in back and ox blood dye to match the handle. Well here she is, although I may tweak the clip a bit more.....

New knife sheath design (hopefully pictures are fixed)
1911alltheway replied to 1911alltheway's topic in Show and Tell
Thanks everyone. I think it turned out pretty nice, and its comfortable as well. I made it primarily so I could easily take it off and put it on when I have to go to my daughters school and pick her up, or any other place that may freak out over someone carrying a fixed blade knife.
