What watch winder are you guys using. Mine sucks.
-
I thought they ejected after firing (inertia ejector), but extracted if not fired.

It's funny you guys bring this up. I've had three instances this week where I was pointed towards Predator. I've had an equal number of people tell me to avoid them during the same period. Apparently, all were greeted by a rude individual that made them feel very comfortable about entering his lair. Needless to say, I don't care about quality of work if service is bad.
That said, I'll plan to checkout Austins, CCA and Predator.

I've seen it before. Its called "insect authority", and I have very low tolerance of such.

My list is limited to one. I really like my Ruger SS Mk-II. I don;t think it will ever be sold. My .44mag SS Vaquero is another one that will likely be around a long while. The rest might get sold one day.

Guys,
I'm not real happy with the finish on my Taurus PT1911. I have been considering one of the hi-tech ceramic finishes like cerakote. Does anyone have thoughts or recommendations on produce or vendor? I should mention that I'm very price sensitive, so I'd prefer less expensive alternatives.

I picked up a Taurus PT1911. I liked it much better than the RIA. Also, I once had a Charles Daly Stainless Empire Grade 1911. The bits and pieces were very rough compared to the Taurus.

I think I'm just going to sell the entire V-match as is, then pickup an entire upper for the doublestar m4. I think there's a gun show coming up, so I'll try to sell this stuff there.

I did see the laserguard but heard you had to do some tweaks to it as laser adjustments while the rear ones doesn't need any. Is this correct?
Anybody have any experience or opinions about LaserMax?
I'll look into Surefire X400.
Not sure what they mean, but the laserguard allows POA to be adjusted as needed. That's a great benefit.

You will need a punch (don't remember what size right now) to remove the roll pin from the gas tube in the front sight block, a barrel wrench, a torque wrench, a vise, and an upper receiver vise block.
OK, I think I have every thing but the vise block.
I may run by predator. I need to get a quote on getting a PT1911 refinished. Everyone is pointing me to these guys.

GUys,
Thanks for feedback. I'm willing to pay for the better quality, but I don't like to pay for name plates. I want something nicer than the hi-point but less expensive than the beretta .

What tools are needed? I have a nice armorer's tool.

I keep a TLR 1 on my bedside glock 34 and crimson trace laser guard on my carry g26. The laser guard models fit the front of the trigger guard. IMO, the ergos are much better than the laser grip, but holster options are limited. I agree with earlier post, the TLR is not well suited for carry. In fact, I think holster options are tough with a TLR

Anyone have any experience with the Beretta Storm carbine? Also, does anyone know if its compatible with Taurus 92 mags?
-
FYI, I think I still have the owners manual if you need part guide.

How many years have you had your Silver Streak, Wareagle? Do you know what the difference is between the Silver Streak and the Blue Streak? Internally, aren't they pretty much the same gun?
I was hoping there was someone that could direct me to a website with the repair instructions and parts breakdown for my Blue Streak...still hoping... and looking.
I have had my silver streak for about 30 years. The blue steak and silver streak are the same rifle, jus differnet colors. Silver is the nickel finish. I also have a pump pistol. Its still going strong as well.

Guys,
I need some advice. I have two ARs, but neither are exactly what I'm currently looking for. AR#1 is a 20" bushmaster vmatch (flat top with 20" aluminum free float tube. AR#2 is a 16" M-forgery with A2 upper. I am wanting an M4 clone with an eotech or acog. Any thoughts on how to pull this off without breaking the bank. I'd be interested in swapping upper receiver on AR#2 to a flat top, but I don;t know how difficult this is. Or should I just sell both and start over?
Thanks,
MArk

What would be the advantage of a .243 on the 10 platform vs. one on the 15?
I've seen .243s available (DPMS? can't remember) on the AR-15 lower, so I'm curious.
I think that would have been an ar-10 clone. The ar 15 platform cannot handle a .308 base cartridge, which the .243 is.

I can;t help you, but the Sheridans are worth repairing. My silver streak and pump pistol are still going strong.

if you shoot public, let me know. I've not fired my FNAR yet.

I've used a mini-30 for deer for years. The caliber is definitely capable. I would be ver concerned about the AK's accuracy. Despite all of the internet lore, I get 3-4" groups with cheap ammo with low power optics a mini-30. I've mostly had 6+" groups with the AKs. Bullet placement is more important than ballistics, IMO.
EDIT, If you take th AK out of state, be wary of mag capacity restrictions. Many states limit is 5 rounds.

I like my harris. It fit the FNAR fine. I tried my bsquare pan and tilt model, but it extended too far beyond he stock forearm.

Guys, Bill is a super guy. I hate that he is no longer welcome here.

It is from Command Arms. I did not care for the high price for the Tango Down or the external springs on the Harris types. Ran into one of these and found them on the net for $84 and free shipping. Had to try it.
The legs have notches for height adjust and you just pull the main shafts out to fold the legs under OR forward. I have been pleased with it.
I'm a big fan of that bipod, but went this harris. Also, Are command arms and tango down the same company? I noticed that a couple of older Command arms purchases included Tango Down manuals.
Best spotting scope?

Check ebay for one of the older Tasco World Class armor covered scopes. Taiwan or Korean optics. Their optics aren't that bad. I paid $99 for mine about 20 years ago. I was thinking about upgrading, but decided it was good enough givent he price.
