Cheaper by the dozen! I had the Tourer before I moved to Tennessee. (it has 155k miles and runs like a top, also) Right after buying the place in Knoxville, I found the Interstate for sale on Knox craigslist. (it has 31k and should last me the rest of my days) Before even going to my new house, I jumped in a rental car from the airport and delivered the payment for the Interstate, my first official act in Tennessee. I had to ask the seller to babysit it for 2 months while I finished moving. The hardest part right now is rotating the three of them out of the garage regularly through the winter to keep them all happy. These damned first world problems!

Please let me know if your pending deal falls through. Thanks. jay

That was my first bike, the '82 Honda FT500 Ascot, WAY back in the "1900's"! I currently have 2 Valkyries and a Yamaha Zuma.

I'd love to be sharing pics of this with you right now but work schedule is erratic and I haven't yet summoned the will to tackle the block of cosmoline in which the gun is encased. Should be a gorgeous weapon in there somewhere...

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I just tried to check out the Shooter's Nation Podcast sponsor link and it took me to a place in the digital wasteland. Is it me or do you get the same result? Thanks. Jay

Just snagged one of these from RGuns. Anyone have one? Opinions? I REALLY didn't need a new caliber to chase.... Jay

I picked up a standard M1A from a forum member recently. I have a handful of bolt action rifles in 7.62x51 but this is my first semi in that caliber. I don't expect to be a "thousand yard shooter" but it would be nice to reach out past 350 on occasion. I've read opinions endorsing everything from 110gr through 180gr. More than one person has implied that going over 165gr gets hard on the gas operated system without changes in gas porting. I'd prefer not to have to change any parts or risk rifle damage, so I doubt I'd regularly use the heaviest rounds. So, I'm probably going to run a series of 147 & 165gr rounds from various manufacturers through it for evaluation. Just thought I'd see what you fellas have come up with. Thanks. Jay

Not sure if I'll use that vendor link after all. They dont take cards, which removes a layer of consumer protection. Still looking around, though. Jay

In the category of "two is one and one is none", I'm half tempted to order one from the vendor that @crc4 linked to, just to see if I can get a nicer "luck of the draw" specimen. My wife will understand..... Otherwise, @Gurn, I may have to learn gun bluing! Jay

Cheap is relative, right? Surplus Ammo has S&B FMJ on sale for $20 a box. https://www.surplusammo.com/categories/pistol-ammo/9x18-makarov-ammo.html Shipping on 10 boxes is another $30. It appears they leave the tax up to you. So, $226.78/500 comes out to .453 per round delivered. I've never used this specific product but have had good luck with S&B in general. Anyone fired JHP through one of these? Any feeding issues? Jay

It appears I've hit some kind of image upload limit. Some worn/chipped commie black paint. Looks like an ambi mag release, but the one for right handed use needs cleaning and lubing to work. Otherwise fully functioning. Only actual rust I see is on the exposed part of extractor, very minor. Bore looks great. Nice, wide trigger shoe, very comfortable. Decent 12/6# trigger. +/- Made in 1988. Solid metal gun. Good for head thumping when ammo runs out... Jay

Well, your $190 gun is going for about twice that these days. I picked up mine today. Not as pretty as yours, but I'm OK with it. Feels like it fits my hand VERY well. Here's the promised pics. (First time loading pics on this site, so brace yourself for the usual site noob chaos...)

I noticed this "Reputation" number by my avatar. It started at zero and has risen to 6 so far. Can someone tell me what it is and how it works? Thanks. Jay
