  1. Doc thanks for the insight. It’s always hard to navigate internet commenters who go “turk####, buy an 88” ad naseum. nice to hear from an actual smith. @new guy, if you’re ever bored you can YouTube Turkish shotgun burn down. James Reeves I find entertaining. I think only one of the Turkish shotguns has made it through his 500 round rapid fire burn down test, and even then there were concessions made. I picked up a cheap Gforce arms as a back door 12ga for critters as that’s where my compost is and it maybe made it through 300 rounds before it stopped ejecting spent shells. I didn’t bother messing with it yet and swapped it with an 88. Could be an easy fix but for the price it served it’s purpose.
  2. PM sent with a question.
  3. “It's sad that we live in a nation where special interest money can destroy a legitimate company, supposedly protected by the Bill of Rights, simply by drowning it in litigation. Without recourse, without hope.“ Unfortunately, this is a tale as old as time. Not firearm specific. Pretty much any startup can be sued out of business, especially by tech or gov. This isn’t the best link but the story about Nikola Tesla the first to come to mind. https://www.legallanguage.com/legal-articles/patent-law-radio/
  4. By any chance, what’s the DOM. Thanks.
  5. I did the cruise plus a few extended days last May on a Holland America cruise ship. It was gorgeous, lots of wildlife, tons of activities with a broad range, shows and entertainment, we hiked glacier park. I would try to save your energy and plan for your most active days to be Juno and Ketchikan, the boat usually allots more time there. Not throwing shade on the smaller islands but they’re touristy and trinket and shopping hubs. We rented e-bikes and although they weren’t cheap it was a fun way to see most of Ketchikan without breaking a sweat. Get reindeer everything, reindeer dogs, reindeer raviolis, reindeer patties. It just makes for a fun experience and memory. Dogs and raviolis were quite tasty even if they were pricey. It’ll be a memory for sure. Might want to consider having anyone who hasn’t been on a boat before to prep with some anti-naseau. I’m prone to “land sickness”, once I’m on land I feel the waves through the gravel it seems. Been that way all my life, I typically take a few days off post vacation to deal with it. But if no one has been on a charter fishing trip or a cruise have them prep with some of the pills or bracelets the night before just to be safe. Anytime I’m going on a cruise I show up with a minimum of $300 in singles I don’t gamble either, but I tip a minimum of $2 a drink alcoholic or not the first couple of days. That $2-3 to a server or bartender the first few days will get you top notch service and a ton of freebies, old bartender trick. You’ll never have to wait in a line for a soda or water, they'll drop off a decent glass of champagne or wine for no reason and they’ll see you coming up and put your drink in front of others. Have fun, the wildlife and glacial scenery was truly awesome.
  6. I have no advice on the chairs at all. Just signed in to say that this is what I appreciate this forum for. The off-topic advice on random subjects that don’t pertain to me and would never cross my mind. I will always take the advice over TNGO over any other online mainstream echo chamber. IMHO it’s topics like this that makes it feel more like a community than a trading post. *inset the “The more you know star going left to right”.
  7. He also did a review months back on I believe the 19 clone.
  8. Somewhat off-topic but relevant to the situation. Ammo prices are moving. Just picked up 4k rounds of 9mm range. I expect the panic buying to drive and keep price up for a bit… I bought some magtech from river town munitions an hour ago and had like 40 bundles in stock. Now 0. They still have S&B for that price but I like the way magtech fits in ammo cans better so I opted for that. Have had a lot of visitors this summer and was just plinking yesterday with a friend and said “man I gotta restock”. Then the trump stuff happened and midway and other big players immediately bumped prices. I use these guys, free ship no tax. Hope this helps. https://rivertownmunitions.com/product/sellier-and-bellot-sb-9mm-115-grain-fmj-50-rd-box-1000-rd-case-x-4-cases-4000-rds-total-4th-of-july-only-sale-expires-at-midnight-4000-rd-case/
  9. I’ll shoot you a PM about the Glock mags.
  10. I will say this. My best friend was stationed st fort Campbell. They were allowed to hunt on site.
  11. Nice find. That’s a deal.
  12. I’ll take it. Sent you a text earlier tonight non related. Don’t want to text so late.
  13. I feel like the people that want to complain about low skill workers making slightly above poverty line have no right to complain about having to scan their own groceries. Or order through a kiosk at McDonald’s. I hate bagging my own groceries. Wish they’d pay someone a living wage to save me my time. But it’s a free market! I’m certainly welcome to not shop at Walmart and pay 40% more at my local gas station for necessities so I can have a human wait on me. The owner. Or the people he’s employed for years and treats well. It’s certainly not because no one wants to work. It’s that everyone gets riled up because they see “starting pay $16-22 an hour”. They‘ work you 20-24 hours a week to ensure you get no outside shot of Bennie’s. They will ensure you have no say in a set schedule in a lot of cases, making part time work not an option to stay afloat, especially when you introduce kids. It’s not AI in the sense everyone thinks of… But that low rent burger flipper will be replaced with a servo and automated through plcs in under five years. Automation is phasing out everything left and right. Quickly. That’s why I went to school for mechatronics. I worked nights on top of full time schooling five days a week for over two years, if I had a kid there’s zero chance I could have done that. I’m fortunate every day I don’t have kids in this economy right now, because that nuclear family ain’t surviving off of $60k rent w this housing market. They already have robots that will run food to tables in restaurants. There’s supermarkets that have robots that scan for out of stock items and monitor spills. I’ve seen the food runner and robot over three years ago. Granted they suck. But it’s already here. Just maybe not in rural America. Friends brother is a social worker. Everyone knows they’re underpaid. He works nights a few hours a day at a liquor store for $9 an hour because he got into a fender bender and needed a job quick. That’s in Antioch. Customers son is a CNA. He capped out at $17 an hour and moved to South Carolina because he couldn’t live in Nashville off that wage. With two roommates, one being his single mother. I dunno, I’m not going to be needing a CNA soon hopefully. But it’s time they get paid a living wage, that’s a field that’s growing and it’s not going to be a need for my generation in the short term. I do believe by the time I need one the older generation will have stopped complaining about someone being paid good money to clean them up and roll them for bedsores. As much as the younger generation can be a pain in the ass they’re going to be a driving force in the change for people making a living wage. (Also Rex was just quoting the thread, certainly not a shot, just commenting. I agree that the tech now is still weak).
  14. I also talked w an engineer yesterday I work with occasionally. He’s got the 9mm. He’s got 3-4k rounds through it and he loves it. No issues with it. He’s had it for a few years and looking at get the .45 banshee.
  15. Second the radians. Im dying to find one for my 15-22. A couple times a month https://arftac.com/radian/ this site will do a blem sale. Usually can grab one for $65, no tax, free ship over $100. Small shop I like supporting.
  16. Thanks for posting this. On my grandmas deathbed I picked her brain. I asked who her favorite president was. No hesitation she said FDR. People deserve a living wage. Not minimum. Im in my late thirties. I’m fortunate where I grew up poor and was frugal all my life. Put 30% down, paid for school out of pocket. I’ve worked three jobs my whole life. My 15 year mortgage is manageable, it’s all the necessities that come with life that has skyrocketed. Health care, auto and home insurance/property taxes, pet insurance, almost everything across the board has nearly doubled for me. I carry good insurance on everything because I really like my home and I’m not trying to lose it over an act of god. I now need to make $8k post tax just to have the qualifications to keep a roof over my head and a paid off beater Honda accord to earn money. I shop around every 6 months for insurance. Groceries is another issue. I was in such a better spot financially pre-covid… my firearm hobby is half of what it used to be because I’m still worried about inflation. I bartend on the side. Always will. I’ve had 3, correct 3 people reach out to me to ask me for work. They all have doctorates or 5 year degrees. They’re all my age. I feel fortunate that I have no debt and buy everything outright. I can’t stress enough that it’s tough for millennials at the moment. Sure you can blame DoorDash, and subscription services and avocado toast. That doesn’t change the fact that a dollar is worth 20% less now than it was pre covid.
  17. I also run an H2 buffer in it.
  18. It’s not apples to apples. I have a 10mm banshee. A couple of other PCCs. The radial delayed blowback is phenomenal. My 10mm kicks less than my 9mm pccs. CMMG went through a phase where they had issues with the extractor, and it would cause some wear while ejecting on the frame. I couldn’t be happier with mine, it’s probably my favorite gun. When I introduce new shooters I start with .22s and end with that. Kicks similarly to a stock 5.56 16”. Everyone is always smiling after. If you have the coin I’d gladly get another CMMG.
  19. Just saw this on my email. https://dahlonegaarmory.com/product/maverick-arms-31014-88-field-and-security-combo-pump-12-gauge-black-synthetic-stock-blued
  20. I’ll second this one. I’ve got a handful of 12s. The 88 does just as good as my 590. It’s my bedside 12 even though I have higher quality ones. Keep one by the back door for critters. Superb and reliable shotguns and for $250 plus ship and ffl fee you can get the security/field combo and get one with an additional “28 barrel. Can’t beat it buck for buck.
  21. For sell. You wood have to be a paid member.
