  1. No bus ever passes out here in the sticks where I reside.
  2. Me too, brother. I never missed the day through the pandemic. I was declared an essential worker, and had the paperwork to support it, but never received one extra nickel for doing so.
  3. I agree. What I see is politicians and pushing electric cars and no one pushing to beef up the electric grid to support them. The former will be a disaster without the latter. I’m not against electric cars as long as we can use them.
  4. I agree about nuclear, but: How long does it take from deciding to build a nuclear plant until it is on line? How many here have seen a new nuclear power plane under construction near them? Do we currently have the electric production capacity to both supply the explosion of new houses being built here in Tennessee, AND the added strain of millions of folks recharging cars every evening? Just like food doesn’t just come from the grocery store, electricity doesn’t just magically come from the wall plug. I know you get this, but it scares the hell out of me how many people don’t.
  5. That’s all I can figure.
  6. How much money was printed during the pandemic? (No need to point out who was responsible for this. I’m painfully aware.)
  7. Thanks, Erik. That makes sense.
  8. Of course it would. More supply=lower price. More demand =higher price. Less supply=higher price. Less demand=lower price. Of course that is a simple minded explanation as speculators can manipulate the market to quite a degree as well.
  9. Right, but a 336 Marlin may well be the most common firearm in America. There will be millions of them stuck back in closets unused since new.
  10. China will be able to buy Russian oil at a discounted price assuming everybody else boycotts it. That puts us further behind the 8 ball. Politicians are on a full court press right now to destroy this country. I beat my head against the wall trying to understand why others can’t see this. On an unrelated note, I bet since you are a logistics guy, you could likely explain something that has confounded me for a long time. Why do we both export and import oil? It seems like much shipping costs could be avoided there.
  11. You are correct. Also, there’s nothing but dirty money stopping Congress from disconnecting the US from the OPECkers.
  12. Looks to me like this was a legitimate buyer. I’m seeing more and more things I simply do not understand.
  13. I don’t have one to measure, but a shotgun chamber has to be long enough for the crimp to freely open up. How long is the crimp on a 410 shell? I do know you can easily chamber a 3” shell in a 2.5” chamber in a traditional shotgun. You’d best not fire it, however.
  14. I'm with Sunfish. You shot that in a 2.5" chamber, which is friggin' dangerous! See how the crimp didn't open up?
  15. I hadn't seen that. wOw!
  16. You did it for the 'Rona.
  17. Why couldn't we just pump our own again, you know, like last year?
  18. I’m beginning to think that site is a money laundering operation. I wish I had a better opinion of mankind.
  19. A fella on another forum suggested that if we all didn’t drive for two weeks, we could flatten the curve.
  20. Somebody was bidding against the winner. I guess I’m out on gunbroker.
  21. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/925161550
  22. My older son sold his pickup about a month ago and bought a Honda Civic. I wondered what the hell he was doing at the time, but now he looks like a genius. I bought some traveling luggage for my bike last weekend. Looks like me and mama will be two wheeling this summer.
  23. I noticed during the last go’round that $4 was the tipping point to where traffic magically dropped by at least half. That was several years back. I suspect it’ll take $5 this time to achieve the same.
  24. That was the esteemed mayor Pete’s suggestion.
  25. Nice spork! Cool Ruger too.
