A bit of music for my two wheeling friends.

It’s a competitive market. I honestly don’t think one brand is vastly superior to another within the same price point. You DO get what you pay for. If you plan to use it for 8-10 years, a bid box mower should do the trick. If you want to make a living with it, or use the same mower for life, a commercial mower is a vastly better mower. Just like we all don’t need a dialog diesel pickup, we don’t all need a commercial mower. I can say I have a commercial 61” Bad Boy with a Kawasaki engine, and it is a quality machine. There are usually several slightly used mowers for sale on sites like LSN and Craigslist that are much cheaper than new. Sometimes you can catch one at a local estate sale as well. Buy a brand you can easily and conveniently get parts for.

My wife finally just said “Screw it! You’re getting one anyway. Might as well buy me a helmet.”

Tell her if she can ride that purse to work, it’s a deal. I guess I’m a lucky man. There’s a lot better chance I’d buy a $5k purse than my wife.

I tried to load my dirtbike in dad's truck without ramps when I was a kid. It seemed simple to just ride a wheelie and stop when I got to the tailgate. Then I could pick up the rear end. When I stopped, it resulted in a bent tailgate. Dad said it was time I bought my own truck and quit using his.

I stopped by Co-Op Friday. The only garden seed they’ve gotten in this year was corn seed. They had no idea when or if any more would arrive. Last year, fertilizer was $16.50 a bag. This year it’s $28!!! This scares me when I think about it from a commercial farmer’s perspective. How are we gonna eat this next year?

Proof of passing this course also gets you lower insurance rates with many carriers. You chose a beautiful weekend to do it. I took it in August, and it was friggin HOT standing around that parking lot waiting on your turn to ride.

I’m not sure, but the older ones were known for a slow twist rate. I guess the model 20 would be the same, but don’t know for sure.

I found the same with my 25-06, but all our 257s like lighter bullets. Mt 250-3000 chambered Savages only like 87 grain bullets, and short 100 grain Remington core locks.

Thin barrel=one shot, let cool, one more shot, repeat. They do have a tendency to wander as they heat up. I’d try a shorter OAL and see what happens. Dad once had a model 700 Remington mountain rifle with a pencil thin barrel. It wouldn’t shoot 3 shots quick very good, but the first shot from a cool barrel always went into the exact same spot. It sure was a dream to carry in the woods.

We have 3 custom Mauser 257 Robert’s rifles. No idea of the twist rates in the barrels. Two are very accurate with Sierra 100 grain Game Kings atop IMR 3031. The third prefers 87 grain bullets. I have had luck in some rifles adjusting the bullet seating depths. Some prefer longer oal while others shoot better with a shorter oal. I guess you’ve tried free floating your barrel and/or glass bedding? Crown look ok? Sometimes you get a rifle that just won’t shoot.

I'm a glass half full kind of guy most of the time, but I'd be very happy I hadn't bought this rifle on line somewhere and it got shipped to my FFL in that condition. That could be a pain in the keester. All you had to do was walk away. Anyway, I'll bet they all aren't like that.

A wise man once said "buy once, cry once". I think that's a pretty good adage to live by. Having said that, I'll stick to my single stage as I don't trust my brain to work fast enough to keep up with a progressive press.
