  1. You mean no one's suggested the Dickerson Pike/Trinity Lane area? I'd stay plumb out of Davidson County if I could.
  2. I know I'll be ridiculed for posting this, but two or three years ago, I saw something cross my yard that I can't positively identify. It was cat-like, way larger than a bobcat, of which I see regularly, and had a long, curved tail. It appeared to be dark in color. Never saw it again. I've heard several other accounts of seeing large cats; some sounded credible, so not so much.
  3. They went extinct here. I haven't seen any for over six months.
  4. No lock=good Lock=bad
  5. Ever consider working on it yourself? You can find all the info you need on the web, save a lot of money, and there is a certain satisfaction on recieves from fixing it yourself.
  6. Aside from chopping firewood, do you really do these other activities?
  7. Do you guys find a lot of use for a tomahawk?
  8. Depends on if I'm buyin' or sellin'.
  9. I've heard there are some really nice sporting clays ranges in Tunica Mississippi. I haven't been there personally, however.
  10. That;s different....I like it! Thanks for sharing.
  11. I really like Phil Valentine. He is on at a bad time, however: 4-8 in the evening. I used to listen to him more when he was on in the mornings. He's mainly a political show, but he's actually funny. No end of the world crap every day. Steve Gill isn't funny at all.
  12. Those are the things she'll look back on and remember about you...not what you bought her or how much time you spent at work. Keep up the good work. I wish there were more responsible fathers around.
  13. Thanks WD-40. That's what I was looking for.
  14. So.....I've still yet to hear of a failure to retrieve a deer properly hit with a 223. Anyone? Anyone??? Bueller?????
  15. I've always wanted a Marlin, but to date haven't owned one. One day I need to correct that.
  16. My feelings exactly. I could probably work 40 hours a week reloading ammo. However, I do not want to take on the liablilty, or insure against the liability that would entail, so only I shoot my reloads. I know guys who reload for the public, or at least their friends, and have had no problems to date. I feel the profit is too small and the risk is to great to reload for others.
  17. I usually agree with Steve Gill, but I'd rather hear someone clawing a chalkboard than to listen to him.
  18. When did being made in the sixties make something old??!!?
  19. No and no. The Marlin lever is one of the strongest 22s I know of. I believe high velocity ammunition was popular in the 60s anyway. Some of the very early Colt pre Woodsmans are set up to shoot standard velocity ammo. Most others handle high velocity fine. It's a good thing, because they are about all you can find. Age, for the most part, doesn't hurt ammunition. Shoot it and go on about your business.
  20. I do. Why would you make that statement?
  21. I like this attitude better than this one: Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but guess which store is more likely to get my business.
  22. Aren't the antlers, tarsal glands, etc. also evidence of sex? I have checked in close to 100 deer, do not keep the genitals, and have never had a problem. Several have been checked by TWRA agents, and so far, no problems. As far as the field dressing, the warm guts feel pretty good to frozen fingers on a cold morning.
