I have to agree with this statement.

Sweet. A crimp is not needed in a long, bottlenecked rifle case such as a 308, or most other rifle rounds for that matter. There is sufficient neck tension to hold the bullet in place without the crimp. That being said, if you feel it is more accurate with the crimp, it certainly woundn't hurt anything. Congratulations on your results. Looks like you're off to a great start.

There is going to be a gun show in Lebanon this weekend, the 12th and 13th of September. I think it is being put on by the folks that have shows in Gatlinburg. I don't remember another gun show in Lebanon before. Does anyone here know anything about it? How many tables? How much is the admission?

The average distance I kill deer is well within 100 yards. I have killed a deer at an honest 400 yards. My line of thinking is that since a human is involved in the process of harvesting game, there is going to be some error. I like to remove all error I can control to make more room for the error I can't control. I like to know that if I do my part, my trusty Winchester will do it's part as well.

I have good luck with Tru-Oil. Apply with your fingers, let dry, repeat as necessary. Then rub with 0000 steel wool or pumice dust. This takes away the cheap looking shine.
