  1. In fact, your great efforts inspired me to join as a benefactor member of your site. I challenge others to do the same. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
  2. David, I won't be able to make it, but I want to thank you so much for all the effort you put forth toward promoting shooting sports, the second ammendment, and liberty in general.
  3. I've used freezer paper, but freezer grade ziplocks seem to work just as well and are more convenient.
  4. Now that's one you don't see every day! I'd like to get my paws on one of those.
  5. Michael Bloomberg ain't gonna like this!!!
  6. If you can get any kind of spark on it, 0000 steel wool WILL burn for quite some time. Blow on it and it really gets hot! I imagine it would be pretty much weatherproof as well.
  7. I bought the Lee Anniversary Reloading Kit fifteen years ago, planning to upgrade when I was in better financial condition. I can afford to upgrade now, but I have yet to find a need to. The Lee stuff still works great!
  8. I'm sure this thread has been done many times before, but deer season is approaching and I'm curious as to what you all rely on. I own several deer rifles, but the one I usually grab is a WInchester Model 70 Classic Featherweight in a walnut stock, chambered in 280 Remington. It is topped with Leupold mounts and a Vari-x III 2.5-8 matte finished scope. What's your arm of choice for those pesky whitetails?
  9. I miss all the good ones! Congratulations on your score.
  10. As far as I know they are pretty much all interchangeable.
  11. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/27597-happy-birthday.html#post364862 Here are the Cricket rifles.
  12. My youngest son recieved a Cricket 22 rifle for his sixth birthday. I think he's going to like it. His brother has had one for several years. We even got mom in on the action.
  13. I've installed dozens upon dozens of scopes, and I've yet to see a need for a scope lapping kit.
  14. Did I mention he got it for his sixth birthday? Of course he isn't to touch it without adult supervision. I think he did really well with it. Time will tell if he continues to. One can never start too early engraining firearms safety into a child's mind. The first time he hit the bullseye, I saw the biggest smile on his face I've seen in a long time.
  15. My ten year old has a Cricket 22 bolt action single shot 22. He is about to outgrow it, but still loves shooting it. I do too. My younger son got one yesterday for his birthday. We've been out shoooting them this morning. I love those little guns. I'd suggest you peruse the used gun racks at gun stores and pawn shops and find him an old single shot bolt action like a Remington, Winchester, Savage, etc. They make a great first gun.
  16. Markings on Japanese Arisaka Rifles and Bayonets of World War II I found a lot of information here.
  17. Couldn't the Ninja just use that same amount of energy to kick your a$$ rather than fieldstripping your handgun?
  18. No, no. It was just something crowding his closet. It didn't hold any sentimental value to him. I guess it does to me, however.
  19. My uncle emailed me yesterday to ask if I wanted a Japanese rifle. Of course I did. I picked it up today to find it is a semi uncommon type 44 carbine. The stock has been sporterized, the bayonet and cleaning rod was missing, as was the sling and sling mounts. The barrel and action was in very good shape. The mum crest was unmolested. This was a VERY nice gift. I am intrigued with it as I've never owned an Arisaka. What would it take to return this gun to original condition? It has been a good day.
  20. I'm not afraid of them, I've simply found them pretty much useless. It seems that others are finding out what I've known for years. It actually isn't the police's job to protect you, no matter what is painted on their car doors, it is YOUR job.
  21. Everyone take note of this! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Thank goodness it didn't turn out worse than it did. It should remind us all that our personal safety is up to US. No government thug with a badge is going to take care of you. That is a lie perpetuated by politicians to gain more power.
  22. Ruger 10/22. I love my SKS, with the exception of the trigger. It is horrible. M1 Carbines are great, but ammo has gotten expensive. AR15's are terminally ugly. AK47's aren't all they're made out to be in my opinion. A 30-30 lever would, however, fit your criteria well.
