Since I've laready bought two of them, I'd say this was good advice to heed.

When you are shooting at 100 yards, are you shooting one shot and adjusting? If you are, I'd suggest you shoot a three shot group and see what you have. If you aren't getting any kind of a group, grab the scope and try to move it. I've seen several rifles with the bases not screwed securely to the reciever. If you determine the mounts are secured to the reciever, the rings are secured to the mounts, and the scope is mounted firmly in the rings, you have a scope problem.

But not a 38 Short Colt!!!! They use a larger diameter bullet.

A 10-7 would be a 38 Special. I would shoot all the +P ammo in it I could find without worry. The same K frame is also chambered in 357 Magnum. I have a pre model 10 and it shoots +P just fine. Yours should be at least as strong if not stronger than mine. The 38 Smith and Wesson, as others have stated, is a different cartridge as is a 38 Colt. Confusing isn't it?

I saw a lot of deer this weekend. My little boy went with me yesterday. He shot at two small bucks. If' he hit either, I couldn't find any sign of it. This morning, I saw several does, a couple of small bucks, and one decent buck. Of course, a good shot on the larger buck did not materialize. It's been a good weekend nontheless.

I think I want one. Do any of you have one, or have a knowledge of them? What do I need to look for? What should I avoid? I only want it to process the occasional deer, so I'm not really wanting a $1000 commercial model. Please give me your thoughts.

Phil Bredesen sucks. I work for the state, and I could easily cut 25% of the state's budget without anyone ever missing anything. These SOBs don't care about shrinking the Government. They always threaten to cut the things you'd miss like school sports, police protection, parks, etc. They'd never think of cutting useless pork barrel projects and contracts with their buddies no one even is aware of. Congratulations to everyone who posted a kill on this thread. You beat me, as all I've killed with my muzzleloader was a stinking coyote. Not the black one I posted that my father killed, just a regular old coyote.
