  1. P08 Luger. The original 9mm. If you haven’t shot one, you wouldn’t understand. I’m surprised someone doesn’t manufacture these today. Also, the 51 Remington was way ahead of its time. I’m speaking of the original; not the recent attempt to bastardize this wonderful and unique design. In my opinion, these are two of the most beautiful and ergonomic semi auto handguns ever devised.
  2. Good stuff! I can think of worse ways to spend your money.
  3. That sounds awesome!
  4. Hard to argue with his results!
  5. The phrase “public execution” keeps coming to mind.
  6. I’m not offended belt the language. I worked in construction for 30 years. Plenty long to hear some pretty flavorful language. I also learned to pick out azzholes pretty quick. I had to deal with them then, and now choose not to pay for the privilege of enduring one. Anyway, sorry for the thread drift. I do appreciate all the advice in this thread. Shooting a handgun well is something I struggle with if I don’t shoot almost daily.
  7. Screwed up factory ammo is occasionally available as well. I know this from experience.
  8. I’d back off that load a few tenths.
  9. This guy is the epitome of why I’d never take a firearms class. What an arrogant jerk!
  10. You have to sell it to her as an investment. A part of a diversified portfolio if you will.
  11. I don’t suppose I’ve ever seen nickel plating crack. Shows how much attention I pay.
  12. Although the top breaks are neat pieces of history, they do not command the collector interest the newer hand ejector models do. There are folks out there who collect these, however. In fact, I don’t happen to have any in my collection. If he decides to sell and doesn’t want to deal with shipping, listing them in the classified section here wouldn’t be a bad plan. What is on the side plate in the third picture?
  13. #1 take some concentration! Glad to see you posting again. I appreciate the tips and expect others or as well.
  14. Cheap 9mm!!! $229.99 to your door seems reasonable.
  15. I'll bet! No way I could do it.
  16. Many thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I’m having pretty good luck learning lacing techniques, but I’m not yet where I want to be with the carving. Making a smooth arc with a swivel knife is proving to be quite a challenge. If you have a workbench and some spare time, it is a fun hobby to try and learn. You can learn a lot surfing the web, and get everything you need at Tandy Leather.
  17. Because he doesn’t agree with you?
  18. It’s a slow process. I guess if the new one is better than the old one, you should keep going.
  19. Damned if the government takes any responsibility.
  20. We are now the laughing stock of the world.
  21. To be precise, a couple of them were reported to be hobbyist balloons.
  22. I understand our military is now shooting down weather balloons. I always wanted to go for a ride in a hot air balloon, but I think I’ll put that on the back burner for now.
  23. Now maybe you won’t get a ticket for having expired tags?
  24. I’d make that trade.
