  1. I see your point, but the no lock S&ws are getting hard to find. I didn't mean to slam Taurus as a company, I was referring more to the Judge specifically. I am a revolver fan, but this is one of the most useless products to hit the market in a long time. Be patient and you'll be able to buy one for a song once the new wears off them.
  2. Here's a couple of my favorite trophies. They aren't anything that would wow you, but I like them because I was there when he took them. He shot them both with a rifle built for him by his grandfather with ammunition he loaded himself with my supervision, of course. Maybe we'll get him a big one some day, but I wouldn't take anything for these.
  3. Stick your head out the window and form your own opinion.
  4. I've never seen this many people agree on anything before!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. ....now maybe for a hi-point?
  6. I wouldn't trade my 642 for a dozen Tauruses.
  7. Buy a model 15 in good shape and leave this one alone. Refinishing is money wasted.
  8. Cause you can't afford Colts?
  9. I'd like to shoot one. I've never owned one. Man, they do look like a cordless drill! I can't imagine one would be comfortable to carry. They are selling briskly, so I'd think there is something to them.
  10. Lat time I was in Memphis, they were shooting most everywhere.
  11. Man, it's been over 20 years since I've seen a gray fox. Plenty of red ones, but I never see a gray one any more.
  12. I'd say your hunch is correct. Most factory ammo is loaded for maximum performance; aka maximum load. Most factory guns are designed to function with this ammo.
  13. Now there;s some good ole American ingenuity! Could you please post a picture of this setup?

    22 mag vs 38+p

38 ammo isn't much more expensive than 22 mag ammo. A Smith and Wesson 642 would be hard to beat.
  15. +1!!!!!!!!!! Dixie Gun Works muzzleloading, blackpowder and rare antique gun supplies. If these guys ain't got it, you don't need it. They're in Union City Tennessee. It is near Reelfoot Lake, and is well worth a trip to see it in person.
  16. Nothing wrong with a 30-06. You'd likely not know the difference between it and a 270. Ammo for either is readily available anywhere that carries ammunition. Contrary to what many will tell you, there is very, VERY little difference in most of the common deer hunting chamberings. The truth is that some people aren't satisfied until they have the newest offering before all their buddies get one. As a quality deer rifle will last several generations, the offering of so many different cartridges is simply a marketing ploy to sell more rifles.
  17. All the gunwriters are hawking them, but as usual with all the wonder products they write about, I've yet to see one.
  18. I chuck the Lee case holder up in a drill and voila! an inexpensive power trimmer.

    Marlin 1894C

The safety is a deal breaker for me.
  20. You must be a member to continue! How 'bout this? amt 22 mag description amt automagll 22 mag in good shape shoots great trade on other guns let me know what you have
  21. If you own a bike,a Clymer's repair manual for it is a very worthwhile investment.
  22. My first car was a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, replaced shortly by a 1967 Chevy II Nova. I kept that car for quite some time. It was med red metallic, so slick a fly couldn't light on it, and FASSSSSSSSSSSSSSST! Shortly after that, I added a 1979 Harley Davidson 1000 Sportster. I knew from a young age I was going to want toys when I became old enough to drive them. I worked hard, saved my money, and really enjoyed them. I wish I had been a bit more farsighted and kept them.
  23. The reason I asked is because I'm left handed. I can shoot a 642 about as well as any revolver I've met, but I shoot some revolvers waaaaaaaaaaaay to the right. Namely, Ruger single actions. I'm not sure why, but I'm looking into it. Your input could help. Thanks, Greg
