  1. Probably. Mine does pretty good with stick powder, very good with ball powder, and fair with flake powder. It's way closer then .3 grains, however. Did you run several charges through it to get rid of static electricity? You also need to bump it against the top and bottom of the stroke with the same amount of force every time. Not sure I've had one out more than .1.
  2. I like your Colt. I really like your holster.
  3. I found it very informative. All my life I've seen people move to Tennessee from northern states to escape all the hight taxes, high crime, expensive property, etc. After there here a short while, something inside them urges them to try and change Tennessee into exactly what they left. That's what I imagine he meant by the statement. Before we married, a northern couple moved next door to my wife's family farm. These people had never seen a tobacco plant. I wasn't but a couple of weeks before they were out there telling my in-laws how to raise tobacco. This is but one example out of many.
  4. LOL! I thought you could just shoot most anywhere in Memphis.
  5. Reagan was the last competent President.
  6. Looks like Michelle is sporting a camel toe at about the 1:00 mark.
  7. WOW! I'll just keep shooting at home. The only lady who yells at me there is my wife, and she only yells when supper is ready.
  8. You have to sift through some BS, but I've found many really, really good deals on there. Some I didn't find in time, some I did. I've had great luck selling on there as well. I've seen some pretty crazy prices here as well. I'm glad it's there, because I can't hardly stomach a gun show any more,. and used to rarely miss one.
  9. If you value your time at all, you will not save an appreciable amount of money by reloading. You will, however learn a lot about firearms and ammo, be able to have ammo you can't buy anywhere, and have a pretty neat hobby. The main reason I reload is to have ammo for certain calibers that I just can't buy. Since I already have the equipment handy, I load for the common calibers as well.
  10. $300-$350.

    My New Colt

There was a Talo Gold Cup in 38 Super on GOC last night. I thought about you, but it sold before the guy got back to me with a price. You didn't buy it did you?
  12. A threesome? Kinky!
  13. A while back, my boss called one of my co workers in his office and asked him about two tickets that came in the mail. They were for the truck assigned to this guy. He'd been turning right on red, but not coming to a complete stop before going. When asked about the tickets, he responded by saying: "just wait a few days and you'll have three. I just saw the S.O.B. flash on my way into the office just now!":D
  14. Yeah, that Colt is disgusting......better let me dispose of it for you.
  15. Oh my!!!!
  16. It's a beautiful place. I intend to take the kids camping there in the near future. I suggest you ride the train through the old mining town closeby in Stearns Kentucky. Well worth the trip in my opinion.
  17. I'd love to shoot one. Mine is in the box with papers, and I can't see any evidence of it ever having been fired. As tempting as it is, I can't bring myself to shoot it. I hope to one day run across a shooter at a semi fair price.
  18. It seems like I remember Smith and Wesson having some type of trouble with their 9mm revolvers. I can't for the life of me remember exactly what it was.
  19. It is if you accept the premise that we are all gonna burn up in x number of years if we don't let Al Gore save us.
  20. Most quality firearms do. I've had little luck explaining this to my wife, however.
  21. I concur.
  22. All right, let me go at it from this angle. If everyone in the United States began living like Amish people tomorrow, how much difference do you really think we'd make as far as global warming is concerned? And furthermore, how are we going to convince the real polluters like China, India, etc. to follow suit? This is just about as silly a scam as the Y2K scam, and will soon be more costly. Remember when everyone was crying the sky's falling at the stroke of midnight, December 31, 1999? How has the general public become so gullible?
  23. I lucked up on those, and have had them for several years. I have very little in them. I wouldn't pay market price for one, but they seem to appreciate in value at a similar rate to the Colt DA revolvers. A lady I know had a brother who died and she asked if I'd be interested in his guns. When I went to look at them, there were several, including to Colt boxes. I told her honestly what I thought they'd bring retail, and I explained to her I wouldn't pay retail, but she wouldn't have to go to the trouble of trying to sell them one at a time. We were both very happy with the deal. I should have bought his gold coin collection as well. Who knew? The nickel one is a 22 Frontier Scout. Not nearly as valuable as the SAA.
  24. The first generation had no letters in the serial numbers. The second generation serial numbers hadan "sa" suffix. Then it gets a bit tricky. Here's an excerpt from another site explaining it: By 1975, the Colt Single Action was in the 74,000SA serial number range and Colt announced that production would cease once again. This shutdown was much shorter than the fourteen years between the First and Second Generations as the Third Generation began in 1976 at serial number 80,000SA and when they hit 99,999 the `SA' became the prefix of the serial number.
  25. I'll take one in .40.
