  1. I'd suggest you buy a 223, 22-250, 220 swift, or other rifle you can buy ammo for. Unless you know the guy really well and have a lot of faith in him, people who build custom rifles are hit or miss as to the quality of their work. There's more than likely a reason he's willing to part with this rifle. I wouldn't think of selling any of my tack drivers, but I would sell you some that have problems. I'd walk.
  2. Do you remember when Sammy Davis Jr. kissed Archie in the mouth? That was one of the funniest scenes ever. I'll never forget the look on Archie's face. It was priceless!
  3. No way that's comfortable! How do you sit down?
  4. Why not use regular high brass #5 or #6 loads? They work well in a 20.
  5. Upon looking further, I see I am mistaken. I have several small ring mausers in varying calibers such as 243, 257, and 7x57. I shoot full power loads in these, but upon looking at pressures, the 308 has a higher pressure limit than any of these cartridges, so I'd say one should download to an acceptable pressure level for safety's sake.
  6. Mauser actions are commonly used to build rifles in 375 Holland and Holland and beyond! Why couldn't you shoot 308 ammo in it?
  7. Sounds like a reasonable price. Wonder how much shipping would be?
  8. I checked into it several years ago, and fireproof safes seemed to be a better investment than the insurance. If you're like most of us, you have some that no ammount of insurance could replace.
  9. I was just wondering where this lady has been all of my life!
  10. Perhaps there was something lost in translation. Would it be possible that "earthquake" and "erection" could sound similar in Iranian?
  11. No wonder I prefer to stay home. People are rude and self absorbed as a rule. Until this is changed, our country will continue it's current downhill slide. The pity of it is that it is going to take an unthinkable event to change our outlooks toward our fellow man.
  12. I've read about the wonders of a product called "Snake Oil". I cannot vouch for this product personally as I've never tried it, but the good folks on a Savage collectors forum swear by it.
  13. This seems to sum it up nicely.

    Girl or boy?

:confused:I'm pretty sure my vehicles are asexual.
  15. ain't likely, as I carry a revolver.
  16. With my thumb. I reach around the grip with my left thumb. It isn't difficult once you get used to it.
  17. I've never seen it. Thanks for the heads up on the bad taste.
  18. I'm left handed, and have never owned a left hand specific gun. I do like double and over/under shotguns, and Ithaca pumps, as they are all pretty much ambidexterous. So are lever guns. A left hand bolt rifle would be as awkard to me as to any right handed person. I've never had a problem shooting a standard 1911.
  19. Should be the other way around. I frequently drop a hot dog on the ground, but never remember dropping a bun. As far as the peanut butter, it should come in giant squirt tubes like toothpaste but bigger.
  20. I'm enjoying your posts along the way. Keep them going as time and circumstances allow. Very interesting.
  21. Opening day of little league here. Between my two boys, we had three games Saturday. Today was church and a visit to the funeral home. I didn't get to go either.
  22. Wasn't there a Goodman show this weekend? Did nobody go?
  23. I was just thinking how there wasn't enough 1911s already on the market.
  24. Irresponsible parents.
