  1. Why use cooking oil? I use the same oils I use for every other gun. Am I missing something?
  2. Nothing there I was interested in, as I don't plan any militia related activities soon.
  3. No you can't. You can, however, spot a good deal on a beat up stock if you see the company has the management in place to overcome the bad press they've recieved. When to sell it is another matter.
  4. I won't da gold!! Gimme da gold!!!!
  5. I had a plan to buy GM and Ford stock when they were below $2 per share. Laziness prevented me from following through. I'd have lost on the GM stock, but the Ford stock would have made very attractive gains. Nex time I need to follow through.

It is a thinner, less heavy than standard barrel. An HBAR is a heavy contour barrel.
  7. I love my Model 18 Smith and Wesson 4" revolver. They're hard to find, but if you can get your hands on one, you won't be sorry! I don't have a photo handy, but it looks like a heavy barrel model 10. Looks like this one, only well worn.
  8. We once had a guy here who'd trade very reasonably. Sadly, he didn't make it in the business for very long.
  9. A sling....hey, it worked for David.
  10. My 58 Remington copy goes bang every time I pull the trigger. It is among the most accurate handguns I own. A chamber filled with Pyrodex, and seated with a lead ball does the trick. As the cylinder cuts a small ring of lead from each ball when seated, I don't see a need for applying grease or whatever over the ball, and I've yet to have a chainfire. I rarely shoot it, because it is easier to wash and wax a car than to clean it. I haven't left it loaded for an extended period of time, but I'd expect it to fire if I did. I've left muzzleloaders loaded for a year at a time with no trouble getting them to fire.
  11. If you ever get up to Gallatin, Poindexter's Bait Shop carries black powder.
  12. I dropped one on my wife's toes!!! Broke all of em on one foot. She says that delivery is a worthwhile investment.
  13. This is a really neat event. I wish I could go.
  14. I've seen people put rubber cement on the plug and light it with a lighter. I've never been able to learn what that accomplishes.
  15. Could we post a warning with posts like these?
  16. Carbide sizing die is a must for straightwalled cases. Bottleneck cases, like high powered rifle cases, need to be lubed, so steel sizing dies are fine for them. Lee dies are the cheapest, and I like them better than RCBS dies for two reasons; they come with a shellholder, and you don't need an allen wrench to loosen a set screw to adjust them. There are many good reloading manuals out there. The more you have, the better. There are 327 dies available. they should aldo reload 32 short, long, and H&R Magnum cases if I'm not mistaken.
  17. I never knew you had to put the plug in your mouth. I've been doing it wrong all these years. Is this the Red Green Show?
  18. There are many cool things to do in Nashville including the Grand Ole Opry, the zoo, the State Museum, which is free, the Parthenon, the Hermitage, Fort Nashboro, etc.
  19. Hillbilly Day in Lafayette is pretty neat, especially the bluegrass band competition.
  20. The Holmes wrecker body company makes nearly all wrecker bodies, and it's home is in Chattanooga. It is a really neat museum, although my wife disagrees. You'd enjoy it, 56 FordGuy. There are a lot of things to do in Chattanooga. The Lookouts have a nice stadium. There is a riverboat cruise, an aquarium, Lookout mountain, Ruby Falls, Rock City, you can ride a "duck", an amphibious military vehicle, across the river. Though technically not on Tennessee, there is a great little amusement park just across the Georgia line called Lake Winniepasauka. There are many nice State and National parks in Tennessee that are well worth exploring. Among my favorites are Fall Creek Falls, Reelfoot Lake, and Big South Fork. Just over in Kentucky, Stearns to be exact, is an old coal mining town where you can ride a train through. There is live music at the depot and everything. It is well worth the visit.
  21. Somebody made an m1 carbine chambered in 22lr a one time. I forget the manufacturer, but I almost bought one, but me and the guy selling it could not come to an agreement on price. It was pretty neat.
  22. Sounds like the last one I went to there. I had about as many guns in my truck as they did in the show.
  23. I second that!!!
  24. I'd like to hear a report as well.
