  1. How would you propose we solve this problem? Serious question. I don’t have a clue myself, but it doesn’t appear to me that normalizing it is working. Ignoring it isn’t showing much promise either.
  2. If you can post pics and good descriptions, I expect between us, we could get you headed down the right path. It won’t be an official appraisal, but probably worth at least what you paid for it. Condition is always of utmost importance. An appraisal is just one man’s opinion. You’ll get several here.
  3. Kleanbore was Remington touting its then new non corrosive ammo.
  4. You serious, Clark?
  5. I once bought a bunch of ancient 303 Savage brass. Some of the necks split during reloading, and after firing, many of the rest split. I annealed the remaining brass, but it didn’t seem to help either. That I ld brass was just shot for whatever reason. I have some sure enough antique 38 Special brass that just keeps going and going. I think the straightwalled brass just lasts better than bottleneck cases.
  6. Concrete slab is a cold sumbeech on your feet in the winter. If you can swing it and your building site will accommodate, a basement is the cheapest square footage you can get. An added advantage is that it makes your house easier to heat and cool. The basement stays at a pretty much even temperature all on it’s own, like a cave. Further, you have somewhere to go when the tornado alarms go off.
  7. No.
  8. I’m not sure normalizing sexual deviancy is in our country’s best interest. Having said that, is a drag show a common event around here. Maybe I don’t get out enough, but I don’t recall seeing one, or even one advertised.
  9. Your local bank is likely sound under normal operating circumstances. The trouble comes when fear spreads and everyone shows up at once demanding to withdraw their money. I doubt there is a bank in existence prepared to handle that. If you have 100k in a savings account, they don’t just stick it in a safe in the back and pay you interest for getting to store it. They loan it out or invest it or whatever. My feeble understanding is that Silicon Valley Bank had bought a bunch of government bonds a one point something percent interest. Once the interest rates on bonds rose due to the federal reserve raising the prime rates, the face value of the bonds held by SVB declined rapidly. At this point, you can hold them to maturity and get back their face value or sell them on the open market and lose your shirt. Word got out and customers got nervous and started demanding their money. Selling the bonds wouldn’t generate enough money to cover the withdrawals, so here we are. I’m sure it’s way more nuanced than this, but you get the basic idea.
  10. Ok. I’m with you now. I haven’t really kept up with this story. I simply don’t care for his governing style and would like to see him replaced. If a scandal is what gets it done, so be it.
  11. All solid ideas.
  12. What? He’s an azzhole, but pretty open about it far as I can tell.
  13. LOL! I ain’t likely to take part in any activity that would necessitate a $600 pair of gloves.
  14. I have a nice pair of leather gloves I wear when riding a motorcycle in cold weather. Had em since I was a kid. For work gloves, I always buy a bag of the cheap Harbor Freight abominations and treat them as the disposables they are.
  15. Would definitely be an improvement.
  16. I always pay cash at restaurants.
  17. Everyone I know who had their credit card info stolen had it happen at a restaurant. No way I’m letting someone walk off with my card.
  18. I like the way you think! Now, what do you propose we do about it?
  19. If you buy something online, do you mail an envelope of cash? It's getting harder by the day to find ANYTHING I want at a brick and mortar store. Not just firearm related....ANYTHING!
  20. Well, did you have any luck?
  21. I’d suggest joining a large forum such as castboolits, 24hourcampfire, arf, etc. and posting a want to buy ad in their classifieds. There are many guys with that stuff collecting dust in their shops that would be willing to help you out. I wish I could help, but I only have enough 218 and 33-20 for me. I think I have a single 25-20 case. No idea where it came from. It couldn’t hurt to post a want to buy as in the classifieds here too!
  22. That would be a hill to die on for people who’ve studied and learned what it really means.
  23. If only we could swap over to a government controlled digital currency, this sort of thing couldn’t happen any more.
