  1. Daylight. Nothing I've found is more peaceful than watching the sun rise over a lake, the ocean, or a hollow in the deer woods. You get to see the entire world wake up. I love it.
  2. Bridges of Madison County. Clint Eastwood lost all his testicles when he made that movie.
  3. The old Colts, Smith and Wessons, Savages, Winchesters, Parkers, etc. have a feel that can't be duplicated. It's like they have a soul of their own. If you've been raised on Glocks and ARs, it would be worth your while to give one of these old friends a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
  4. This guy amazes me.
  5. I'm what you'd call a dinosaur. I can't get very revved up about hardly any new production firearm. The closest I've come lately was the new model 70 Winchester. Upon closer inspection, it appears to me that they bastardized the trigger and doubled the price of the old one. I don't care for all the plastic pistols and evil black rifles I see in all the gun magazines. I'm not sure if there are any fine crafstmen left that could produce the type guns our fathers and grandfathers enjoyed. It's just the passing of an era I suppose, but it makes me sad. Anybody else miss Shiny blued steel and fine, figured walnut?
  6. I'm left wondering "how does it work?". One bolt feeding two chambers seems very cumbersome and unreliable to say the least. Facing a life threatening situation, I'd much prefer a double or a trusty Model 70 Winchester to this very odd device. The quality of his craftsmanship, however, cannot be disputed.
  7. That's Fuched up!!!!!
  8. I'm all forinvading Mexico! Think about it...the more ground you take, the shorter the wall we need to build becomes.
  9. Looks good in the pictures. I don't understand why the foreign made Brownings command such a premium over the American made Remingtons, and Savages as well for that matter. I believe the Remington would be the better investment at this time.
  10. Mine was leaking the other day. I almost ordered a seal for it when something told me to pull it out and run it where I could see. Turns out the pump was leaking. I threw it away and bought a new, quieter dishwasher.
  11. I expect Southwest will do their best to make it right. I also know how much it sucks right now. Look on the bright side; at least it isn't the S.O.B.s with the TSA you are dealing with. They've shafted me in the past, and trust me....there's nothing legal you can do.
  12. My boys both started with a Crickett. They've proved to be fine little rifles.
  13. Very well stated.
  14. This old wood cabinet has worked well so far. It is scewed to the floor and wall.
  15. It would be nice to prolong in a bit longer, however.
  16. I had a great weekend hanging out with my family. Saturday night Sounds game with fireworks afterward. Sunday church, grilling, and an afternoon of 22 plinking followed with a nice visit with neighbors. Today, swimming at the lake.
  17. I doubt God's any too happy that we elected a Muslim president either.
  18. Save up and employ a reputable guide.
  19. Probably need to screw your sizing die in a bit. Most of what I reload is pretty tight in the chamber, making the bolt stiff to close. That close tolerance, in my opinion, aids accuracy. Put one in and use some force to close the bolt. I'll bet you can close it with a bit of persuasion. Don't be discouraged. You need to consult your instructions, but I believe the procedure is to pull your handle on the press all the way down, screw in the die until it touches the ram, pull the ram back up, screw the die in another 1/4 turn, and lock it down. Please check the directions with your dies before taking my word for it.
  20. It's easier to come by than 38 Colt.
  21. Spaceman's right. No savings, but more shooting.
  22. What's really cool is killing dinner with ammo you loaded. What's cooler than that is supervising your child while reloading ammo he kills a deer with. You're about to spend a lot of money and have a lot of fun!!!

  24. I like the grips as well as anything about it.
