  1. Yep, read one thing, thought another. Sorry.
  2. If you ever see me running down the road, it will be worth your while to look and see what's chasing me!
  3. I haven't seen any 270 WSM with Boxer primers.
  4. ..."My wife would like that."
  5. It happens, and like Tim said, go on and buy two or three. They aren't expensive, and the shipping will be about the same on one or three.
  6. I do. Here's how I sight in a bolt rifle. First, I ensure that all the mount and ring screws are tightened. Next, I remove the bolt, lay the rifle firm on sandbags, and look through the bore from the reciever end and center the target in the bore. without moving the rifle, now I look through the scope, and adjust until the crosshairs are also pointing at the target. Remember that your adjustments will be made backward from the directions on the scope at this point. This will get you on paper. Now, replace the bolt and fire a shot....fire a series of three shots to ensure that they are in a group. Now you can make final adjustments using the directions written on the scope. Fire three more shots to verify your zero. Once you have it where you want it, you are good to go. Anytime you change brands of ammo, or bullet weights or styles from the same brand, you'll need to check your zero again.
  7. Don't leave out the option of an 03 Springfield.
  8. One of each to start. Then you can begin looking for the many variations of each.
  9. Theoretically, the 308 will be a short action rifle, which will be a stiffer action, which should be conducive to better accuracy than the 30-06 length action. In reality, there's little evidence to support this. The 30-06 has more case capacity, and can handle heavier bullets better than the 308. With 150 grain bullets, the 06 has a very slight advantage over the 308. Wiht 180,200, and 220 grain bullets, the 06 gains a bigger advantage. Bottom line is to buy which ever you get the better deal on.
  10. Different actions. Different triggers. Different stocks. Different barrels. It's kinda like what's the difference in the Chevy Volt and the Chevy Corvette.
  11. You don't even want to look at a loaf of souse meat if that chicken paste bothers you!!!!
  12. ...and phone calls, and summons, and...........
  13. Hey, I'm a Vandy fan......I've got to have something to laugh at.
  14. Thanks for the kind words. Hope you enjoy it for a long time.
  15. There's a whole lot more to renting than just cashing a check every month, isn't there.
  16. I was coaching a baseball game today and missed it. My sons and myself were at a pizza restuarant when we saw the outcome of the game on the news there. I laughed out loud, looked around, and everyone in there but my family were wearing orange. I thought I was going to have to fight my way out of there.
  17. You have a good example of the finest bolt action rifles ever to be produced in the United States.
  18. Steamboat Bill's is my favorite restuarant in Hendersonville. It is authentic cajun cuisine cooked by a guy straight outta Lake Charles.
  19. I like Cheddars.
  20. I wish one of you guys would have been my history teacher.
  21. The 38 Super is based on the 38 ACP case, loaded to a higher pressure. There is actually a fine semi auto made in 38 Special. The model 52 Smith and Wesson is legendary.
  22. So, I walk in to a gun store and ask for a replacement magazine for a Ruger LCP. The store manager proudly pulls a mag off the shlf that had to be at least a foot long. After I told him I didn't think it would fit in my pocket, He laughed and sold me a standard LCP mag. Are those things just for a joke? Is there some utility to them? I've never seen one before.
  23. He's got all of two posts....what are you two scared of??!!!???
  24. Why didn't you go on and get several of them?
