  1. SON OF A ...............
  2. Oh, I'm with ya Mike. I just couldn't resist picking at you a bit.
  3. A well built $300 1911 in 22, and you're fussing about a spare mag.
  4. Seriously, this should be reported and dealt with by someone.
  5. Good article. Thanks for sharing.
  6. He should be proud!
  7. How long has this store been open?
  8. 100 grains of Varget in a muzzleloader would certainly get your attention. If you could get him to demonstrate, please take a video recorder.
  9. Yeah. They're available. I think they're around $35 each.
  10. Thanks, Mike. That's what it looks like to me as well. A cost saving measure I assume. Anyway, I shot it some more this afternoon. This thing rocks!!!!! I like it, the boys like it......the wife still prefers a revolver, but I think she's becoming partial to it as well.
  11. I shoot 295 grain Powerbelts. They seem to work as good as anything in my rifle.
  12. I've noticed the same thing with two different muzzloaders and several very different loads. You shoot the deer, and he acts like he hasn't been hit at all. No blood. You walk a little ways, and there lays your deer. I can't explain it, but I've seen it with round balls, lead Buffalo Bullets, as well as PowerBelt bullets.
  13. I started with a Lee single stage press......I STILL have a Lee single stage press. I suggest you start with one. Even if you one day want to move up to a progressive press, you will still use the single stage for one offs for load development and other things.
  14. I saw 5 does this morning, and 4 coyotes. I did shoot a coyote, but the wife won't cook it. This one was a yellow color. I didn't realize they came in so many colors.
  15. WOn't they let you return it?
  16. Saturday evening......nada.:-\
  17. If anyone figures out what purpose the screw in the side of the frame above the front of the trigger guard serves, I'd sure like to know. If I understand the instructions correctly, you need to remove this screw to take down the gun.
  18. I froze my tookus off this morning, and all I saw was a spike. Did any of you have any luck? I sure didn't hear a lot of shooting.
  19. I ordered mine from Antlers and Feathers here in Lafayette. It was $300. I think Bellshire Hardware has them in stock. It shoots great!!!
  20. Have you tried Bruthas r us?
  21. I've read a bit about these, and after seeing the price, I thought I'd give one a try. It came in this afternoon. In my opinion, this gun is a steal! It has a great trigger, nice checkered wood grip panels, adjustable three dot sights, an ambi safety, and many more features you'd find on a high end custom 1911. It is a full size, steel 1911, and feels, fieldstrips, and operates just like it's 45 cal big brother. For less $ than you can buy a 22 conversion, you get the entire pistol. Oh yeah.....it shoots great! Much better than I'm capable of. The only downsides I see is that the sights, while fine, are made of plastic. Also the spare mags are quite expensive. I also don't care for the white letter billboard appearance they decided to give the sides. These gripes are just nit picky. For around $300, it's a heckofa lot of fun, and a 1911 you can afford to shoot.
  22. The little packages that read "Do not eat"?
  23. 100 grain Remington in the green box at Walmart. Probably the cheapest you'll find, it is very accurate in all my 243s, and great for deer. For the most part, the premium ammo with designer bullets are a waste of money. For certain applications, they are worth the added cost, but I find no evidence that the whitetail deer has gotten any tougher in the last 100 years.
