  1. I wish I could shoot as well as my wife.
  2. As for the tumbler, I have a Frankford Arsenal model from Midway. I like it fine. I will tell you that you can buy corn cob bedding material at Petsmart for a fraction of what you'd pay for media at a gun store. I also use Nu-Finish car polish in leiu of the more expensive brass polish.
  3. Here's my theory on tools: I'll buy the least expensive tool I think will do the job. If that tool ever breaks, wears out, or simply doesn't get the job done to my satisfaction, I'll buy a more expensive one to replace it. I bought a Lee Anniversary Kit over 15 years ago. I'm still using it. That would be my suggestion. Lee makes quality stuff that works well at a very attractive price.
  4. I've traveled far and wide, and I've come to the conclusion that the average person doesn't know half what they should know about driving....or voting.
  5. Chest, Chest, Head! Repeat.
  6. You gonna be a daddy??!!?
  7. Looks good. An ajustable groover, a freehand groover, and a stitch wheel would make your stitching look a lot more professional. The rest looks great. LOL! 12 oz leather could be used to make brake shoes!!! I like 7/8 oz, or 8/9 oz for really heavy stuff like the gun pictured here. He'll need a really stiff belt to support that hogleg.
  8. I'm in Lafayette.....it ain't near nothin!!!!!!!!!
  9. All you need is this handy, dandy active shooter pocket card from the Dept. of Homeland Security. http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/active_shooter_pocket_card.pdf
  10. I know a guy who makes a few double layer, hand sewn belts. What are you looking for, exactly?
  11. Yeah, doesn't really narrow it down much, huh?
  12. Nuttin in lafayette.
  13. The reloading manuals list a maximum overal length (OAL). Assuming the bullet doesn't have a crimp groove, this is a good place to start. If a crimp groove is present, and you have a bullet designed for the caliber you are loading, you put the crimp groove at the mouth of the case. Wadcutter bullets go fully inside tha case. So I guess the short answer is "It depends.....".
  14. Have you tried a**hole@DC.gov?
  15. Cool! I always liked the looks of those, but never have owned one.
  16. Thanks. I did that just this morning. I haven't got a lot of response there yet either.
  17. LEE LOADER - 38 S&W & .38 Colt New Police : Equipment at GunBroker.com I dunno.....maybe $40?
  18. Remington Kleanbore 38 Colt New Police : Collectible Ammo at GunBroker.com These would work well. The 38 New Police is just a 38 S&W with a flat point bullet.
  19. I;d personally prefer a flat point bullet, like a wadcutter or FPRN, to a round nose, but I'll bet you'd be hard pressed to find any. Is the bullet for the 38 S&W a larger diameter than the case like a 38 Colt or a 22 LR?
  20. Actually, I think this only applies to handguns. I believe you are able to buy and sell long guns out of state. I admit I've done it in the past; before I knwe better, but I understand it is a felony. It's a stupid law nonetheless, but not one worth taking a chance on to make a few bucks.
  21. Nothing wrong with LRN ammo. No, you won't have a problem with too much penetration with a 38S&W. They're a pretty enemic round. Police carried 158 grain RLNs in 38 Specials for years upon years. Just because something isn't the latest and greatest, according to on the take gunwriters, doesn't mean it won't work. People haven't gotten any tougher in the last 100 years. On the contrary, I'd say they've gotten softer.
  22. It's usually a pretty good show, especially for a smaller one. I was going, but I believe I'll let the weather keep me at home.
  23. I'll bet ammo will be easier to find than 380 was when the LCP came out!
  24. Tell me whatcha know about this little fella. I can't seem to gather much info on it. Anschutz is known for it's target/competition guns, but this one has thrown me for a loop. It really shoots good and seems to be of good quality.
  25. Welcome to the great sport of deer hunting.
