  1. My father has an old 5-0-5 RCBS scale. It has served hime well. That might be what I get. I currently have a Lee scale, and it works well and is accurate. I just want something a little easier to adjust and something with a heavier base.
  2. I do. Please share some of your favorites. YouTube - Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys - Faded Love
  3. :devil:The bid price just went up.
  4. There's what I'm talking about! Thanks. I don't know why Ebay didn't cross my mind.
  5. Cool!
  6. Any competent gunsmith should be able to perform this for you.
  7. I just can't make my simple brain trust anything electronic. I currently have both, but I'd like to upgrade my balance beam scale.
  8. I'm thinking of purchasing a balance beam scale, and I'd like some recommendations. What do you have? What do you like or not like about it? What do you consider the best balance beam scale? I was reading reviews on Midway about them, and several people had bad things to say about every one Midway offered.
  9. I want to see racks full of old, quality used guns, with fair prices on them. I also like to see racks full of DIFFERENT guns each time I visit; not the same ones sitting there for years. That and a guy behind the counter who isn't a smart a$$. That's about all I look for.
  10. Colt 1911 .45 ACP Production Statistics and Serial Numbers You can find it here.
  11. Wow! That was a very nice gesture, and one worth some pretty big coin as well.
  12. I see the pics now. That thing is sharp. The stock looks like it would be very comfortable. Update us on your range results.
  13. Leroy, I didn't mean to step on your toes, but if you gey bent out of shape that easily, I'll try to refrain from interacting with you any more. Everyone on this board doesn't have the knowledge and experience with firearms that you have. Some don't know how a 1911 works. We can dispute this to no end, and neither of us will gain anything, nor change each other's mind. I don't care how you carry your handgun, but I'd prefer to not be near you when you are "gently" and "carefully" manipulating the hammer of a 1911 over a live round in the chamber. I personally don't care that much for the 1911, opting for the simplicity in operation of a revolver. I can agree with you that the thumb safety; excepting the ambi safeties, is quite a pain for a lefty.
  14. You made 100% based on my training course.
  15. A gentleman by the name of Sam Colt has been making them for about a century now. I see you didn't include him in your list.
  16. I hope you get a camera. We'd like to see a picture in the "SHOW AND TELL" section.
  17. ...not to mention the dangers of sex.
  18. leroy, I know how a 1911 works. To load a round in the chamber, and then to put the hammer on half cock, one has to pull the trigger on a live round while hopefully holding the hammer with the thumb. This is at best a foolish and dangerous practice. If there is another way to accomplish this, I'm all ears.
  19. I'd just push him in the lake.

+1. Pinned barrel, recessed cylinder......these are marks of a true high quality Smith and Wesson, built when gun guys ran the company. Key locks and MIM parts.....the mark of crap bean counters engineered and try to pass off under the Smith and Wesson name.
  21. I would encourage you to take the 1911 apart and study the inner workings of it. If you have any engineering ability at all about you, you'll understand how the 1911 was meant to be carried.
  22. :DThis isn't the classified section, but I sold that one for $45.
  23. I can. I sold that one to a guy in Alabama today. Let's see how he likes it, as I'm not an IWB fan. I think it will be pretty good.
