  1. I've read a bit about these, and after seeing the price, I thought I'd give one a try. It came in this afternoon. In my opinion, this gun is a steal! It has a great trigger, nice checkered wood grip panels, adjustable three dot sights, an ambi safety, and many more features you'd find on a high end custom 1911. It is a full size, steel 1911, and feels, fieldstrips, and operates just like it's 45 cal big brother. For less $ than you can buy a 22 conversion, you get the entire pistol. Oh yeah.....it shoots great! Much better than I'm capable of. The only downsides I see is that the sights, while fine, are made of plastic. Also the spare mags are quite expensive. I also don't care for the white letter billboard appearance they decided to give the sides. These gripes are just nit picky. For around $300, it's a heckofa lot of fun, and a 1911 you can afford to shoot.
  2. The little packages that read "Do not eat"?
  3. 100 grain Remington in the green box at Walmart. Probably the cheapest you'll find, it is very accurate in all my 243s, and great for deer. For the most part, the premium ammo with designer bullets are a waste of money. For certain applications, they are worth the added cost, but I find no evidence that the whitetail deer has gotten any tougher in the last 100 years.

U_G_L_Y, it ain't got no alibi.....it's ugly, ugly, ugly!!!!!!!
  5. I keep mine loaded until I need to shoot it. I take the cap off when I'm not hunting, or getting in or out of the stand. I'll load it tomorrow night. I'll unload it after the season is over, or else in the direction of a deer.
  6. I have been to Sweetwater. Didn't realize what county I was in. Beautiful place.
  7. It seems several have left as of late. I miss some of them. Perhaps abrasive moderators had a hand in it. There are some here.
  8. Where the h3ll's Monroe county?
  9. I'm not a fan of LE either. Perhaps it's time you and your brother had a "meeting" with him out in the barn. I'm so sorry to hear of someone having such problems with their father. A father should be a role model and a hero. Mine is, and I aspire to be the same to my boys.
  10. I wouldn't go onto Rivergate property unarmed. Trust me. I know from experience.
  11. If you don't mind overpaying, you'd probably like it.
  12. Great looking handgun. Some good looking leather as well.
  13. THat's exactly what Mr. Lovett did. It was simply beautiful.
  14. No. Lafayette isn't allowing any new residents. Sorry.
  15. Arkansas stone. For a swivel knife, hobby knife, or other knife that meeds to be super sharp, I use a leather strop glued onto a wooden paddle and coated with jeweler's rouge.
  16. Might even want to be a customer.
  17. I've shot several pets when they got to the point of no return. It is much more humane than letting them suffer. It isn't an easy thing to do, but it is more economical than paying a vet to do it. There's really a law against it?
  18. Love my Glenfield model 60, which is an older version of the same rifle. I paid $60 for it.
  19. Rock on!!!!
  20. He did an amazing job singing the National Anthem last night at game 4 of the World Series. I've never been a big fan, but in comparison of some of the hack jobs on our anthem I've heard lately, he earned a new respect from me. A class act indeed. What did you think?
  21. I don't know chit about it, but since the Saturn plat closed, I'll bet you can buy a mini mansion for pennies on the dollar around Spring Hill.
  22. Perhaps you could be a reciepient this year instead of a donor. People in your spot are what it's for I think.
  23. Step up guys. Surely you'd like to help someone around the holidays. It is a good thing. Anything positive attached to gun owners has to be a boon for us. We sure get our share of bad publicity.
  24. I have found the Chapel Hill area very nice. Might be a bit far out for you, however.
  25. If you wish to go all out, the Registered Magnum is the pinnacle of revolver perfection.
