  1. Nothing wrong with LRN ammo. No, you won't have a problem with too much penetration with a 38S&W. They're a pretty enemic round. Police carried 158 grain RLNs in 38 Specials for years upon years. Just because something isn't the latest and greatest, according to on the take gunwriters, doesn't mean it won't work. People haven't gotten any tougher in the last 100 years. On the contrary, I'd say they've gotten softer.
  2. It's usually a pretty good show, especially for a smaller one. I was going, but I believe I'll let the weather keep me at home.
  3. I'll bet ammo will be easier to find than 380 was when the LCP came out!
  4. Tell me whatcha know about this little fella. I can't seem to gather much info on it. Anschutz is known for it's target/competition guns, but this one has thrown me for a loop. It really shoots good and seems to be of good quality.
  5. Welcome to the great sport of deer hunting.
  6. Sounds like you both got what you wanted. You can't beat that.
  7. I assume the barrel is rifled? If it were mine, i think I'd find a competent gunsmith to recreate and replace the missing parts and clean it up. Then, I'd buy some patches, balls, caps, and Goex black powder, and I'd deer hunt with the coolest muzzleloader in the 'hood.
  8. That;s who I intend to contact. Thanks.
  9. Over Vince Young? I agree.
  10. A little pricey, but they all seem like good folks in there.
  11. Cool muzzleloader! I don't have a clue as to the value or history of it, but I sure enjoyed seeing it. I don't know if you are a member of smith-wessonforum.com, but there's a guy there by the name of gizamo who could tell you all you ever wanted to know about it. There are others there who would chime in with helpful info as well.
  12. After reading all the bashing of them, i just had to try one fo myself. Mine is much more accurate than I had anticipated. 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 yards with any ammo I've tried. I didn't expect a benchrest competition rifle. It fires every time I pull the trigger. The only down side I've found so far is that I feel it needs some trigger work. I'll probably send the trigger off at some point to have it improved. Short of that, I think it's great for what it is.
  13. If Bud Adams would let Fisher have free reign and coach the way he sees fit, I think we'd see a superbowl win in a hurry.
  14. Owner: Vince Young Not On Titans Roster Next Season - NewsChannel5.com | Nashville News, Weather & Sports Thank God and Greyhound, he's gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. How did the brand "Ithaca" get into this discussion?
  16. Thanks for the heads up. I've suscribed to G&A for several years, but I"m going to let it run out this time. It's steadily went downhill to the point where I feel it is a waste of time to open a copy. For my money, I feel that Shooting Times is a far superior mag.
  17. I mean it!!! Your tooling looks as good as any I've seen.
  18. Your tooling beats the crap outta mine! I think it looks great!!! Now for a matching belt.......
  19. I have a Liberty And a lower end Canon. The next one will be a Liberty!!!
  20. Why not stick with the FMJ ammo?
  21. I sit facing my plate.
  22. People show far too much concern for pitted barrels. If it shoots good, SHOOT IT!!!
  23. LOL! Try buying some for 41 Magnum, 218 Bee, 7x57, 250 Savage, etc. You'll think they're giving away 223 ammo. Anyway, I've always heard that reloading steel cases is a losing proposition, and although I haven't tried it, it makes sense to me that you shouldn't. I'd think you could pick up all the 223 brass you wanted at a range.
  24. A well made pancake holster is detail molded for retention. You can turn them upside down and shake them vigorously, and the gun stays in place. A thumb strap is merely decoration.
