  1. Sorry dedgar, Garufa and Sidinman are correct. Somehow a Colt snuck into an S&W family reunion.

    Pawn shop guns

I see this topic come up pretty often, and each time I have to wonder what the perceived differences in guns shops and pawn shops are. In reality, they are basically the same thing. My experience with pawn shops pretty much mirrors my experience with gun stores; looking at thousands of overpriced, abused pieces and occasionally finding a jewel.
  3. On someone else. They're not comfortable for me.
  4. Get the gal a revolver.

    Revolvers

One of the is not like the other ones.... ...one of these does not belong.
  6. Nice buck, WD!!!!! That thing looks as big as a horse.
  7. Perhaps you were in the edge of Macon county instead of Jackson when the doe was shot. (wink, wink)
  8. The Reolader's Bench in Mt. Juliet has it. It smells pretty good, but I don't see that it's any better than anything else.
  9. That's a very large deer. What did he weigh?
  10. I once killed a pretty nice 8 point buck, the day after Thanksgiving, which was still in full velvet. The best I could tell, he didn't have any testicles, therefore I assume he lacked the testosterone that gives them the urge to rub the velvet off. I had a shoulder mount made of that deer just because it was rather odd.
  11. If you are allowed to shoot does in Jackson county like you can in Sumner county, you will need a type 94 permit in addition to your big game gun tag.
  12. Amen! I can't prove it, but I've heard that the lowly 22 LR is responsible for taking more human lives than any other caliber.
  13. ...and Albert Haynesworth could be their manager.
  14. I sure didn't hear a lot of shooting like usual on opening weekend.
  15. Right, but he's just downright pathetic.
  16. Has any of you shot deer, or other big game, with cast bullets. How do they stack up against jacketed hollow points for hunting?
  17. Isn't it about time to grow up and be a big boy?
  18. Yep. You guys are right. It was none of my business and I shouldn't have said anything. Is there a way to correct this?
  19. Leroy, do you use 2400 for jacketed bullets as well?
  20. I've worked up a light load for cast bullets using Unique powder. I understand this isn't the best powder for a full house 240 grain jacketed bullet load. WHat do you all like for this application? WW296, Power Pistol, H100,? What else?
  21. Different rifles react differently to things. I have some rifles that shoot better with a round loaded shorter than the max OAL, while others shoot better with the bullet seated closer to the lands. Others still don't really show a preference to any particular OAL. You just have to keep experimenting until you are satisfied or bored with experimenting and ready to move on. As Dolomite said, .8 is a really respectable group for a deer rifle. When I get less than an inch group, I'm usually done with the load development phase and ready to go hunting.
  22. Yep. You're real impressive as usual Daniel. We're you picked on a lot as a child?
  23. If you find a better rifle than this, I'd like to come see it.
  24. Daniel, I'm telling you that if you spoke to people in real life like you do on the internet, you'd soon be bleeding. I don't have a dog in this hunt, and if you wish to be a bada$$ internet ninja, more power to ya. I'm telling you that this doesn't impress anyone. If you gain something from this post, good. If not, we've lost nothing.
