  1. Nuttin in lafayette.
  2. The reloading manuals list a maximum overal length (OAL). Assuming the bullet doesn't have a crimp groove, this is a good place to start. If a crimp groove is present, and you have a bullet designed for the caliber you are loading, you put the crimp groove at the mouth of the case. Wadcutter bullets go fully inside tha case. So I guess the short answer is "It depends.....".
  3. Have you tried a**hole@DC.gov?
  4. Cool! I always liked the looks of those, but never have owned one.
  5. Thanks. I did that just this morning. I haven't got a lot of response there yet either.
  6. LEE LOADER - 38 S&W & .38 Colt New Police : Equipment at GunBroker.com I dunno.....maybe $40?
  7. Remington Kleanbore 38 Colt New Police : Collectible Ammo at GunBroker.com These would work well. The 38 New Police is just a 38 S&W with a flat point bullet.
  8. I;d personally prefer a flat point bullet, like a wadcutter or FPRN, to a round nose, but I'll bet you'd be hard pressed to find any. Is the bullet for the 38 S&W a larger diameter than the case like a 38 Colt or a 22 LR?
  9. Actually, I think this only applies to handguns. I believe you are able to buy and sell long guns out of state. I admit I've done it in the past; before I knwe better, but I understand it is a felony. It's a stupid law nonetheless, but not one worth taking a chance on to make a few bucks.
  10. Nothing wrong with LRN ammo. No, you won't have a problem with too much penetration with a 38S&W. They're a pretty enemic round. Police carried 158 grain RLNs in 38 Specials for years upon years. Just because something isn't the latest and greatest, according to on the take gunwriters, doesn't mean it won't work. People haven't gotten any tougher in the last 100 years. On the contrary, I'd say they've gotten softer.
  11. It's usually a pretty good show, especially for a smaller one. I was going, but I believe I'll let the weather keep me at home.
  12. I'll bet ammo will be easier to find than 380 was when the LCP came out!
  13. Tell me whatcha know about this little fella. I can't seem to gather much info on it. Anschutz is known for it's target/competition guns, but this one has thrown me for a loop. It really shoots good and seems to be of good quality.
  14. Welcome to the great sport of deer hunting.
  15. Sounds like you both got what you wanted. You can't beat that.
  16. I assume the barrel is rifled? If it were mine, i think I'd find a competent gunsmith to recreate and replace the missing parts and clean it up. Then, I'd buy some patches, balls, caps, and Goex black powder, and I'd deer hunt with the coolest muzzleloader in the 'hood.
  17. That;s who I intend to contact. Thanks.
  18. Over Vince Young? I agree.
  19. A little pricey, but they all seem like good folks in there.
  20. Cool muzzleloader! I don't have a clue as to the value or history of it, but I sure enjoyed seeing it. I don't know if you are a member of smith-wessonforum.com, but there's a guy there by the name of gizamo who could tell you all you ever wanted to know about it. There are others there who would chime in with helpful info as well.
  21. After reading all the bashing of them, i just had to try one fo myself. Mine is much more accurate than I had anticipated. 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 yards with any ammo I've tried. I didn't expect a benchrest competition rifle. It fires every time I pull the trigger. The only down side I've found so far is that I feel it needs some trigger work. I'll probably send the trigger off at some point to have it improved. Short of that, I think it's great for what it is.
  22. If Bud Adams would let Fisher have free reign and coach the way he sees fit, I think we'd see a superbowl win in a hurry.
